My 500 gig fell from a height of mmmmm....i think it was 70cm fall while plugged into the laptop. It was divided in 2 partitions, one for ntfs and the other partition into fat32(For the ps3).
Its now showing 2 partitions but in raw format.

I can recover the data through recovermyfiles program but this is just a waste of time imho. What i need is a way to fix the partition structure and still keep the data intact.

What program can i use to fix this. What i have at the moment is acronis disk director and acronis true image.I have not installed these programs yet.I need a easy fix:D:wtf:
Is there anything simple and very good out there.Paid or free it doesnt matter...........btw i tried testdisk program:(

Did it fall while powered on? If 'yes' then it could be fooked.

Image the drive with GNU ddrescue before you try anything else. Well maybe do a scan with MHDD first.

Bring it in to us if you need help. Just remember, the more attempts you make now the smaller your chances of getting it all back in the end.

The more attempts..lol,No worries i can recover the data safely but i need to buy another hdd this week to transfer everything. Its way cheaper than your service:D.A new hdd will cost about R600.

Handy tip: You wouldn't get naked and play air guitar with a cut-throat razor, would you? Likewise I wouldn't place my external HDD on the edge of my desk. :) But I feel for you all the same - data loss is a sinking feeling of note.

I'm surprised you want to trust your data to a hard drive that has been dropped :wtf:
Ok i have raw data but recovermyfiles program found all my data and i just need to transfer 467gig to some external storage.I sent 6 movies to my laptop hdd and it all works great,so i am not to worried about data loss...........i havda faithda SENORE.

Expensive? That's like telling a surgeon "Damn, you're expensive. You must have an operating theatre or something?" I removed my girlfriends appendix myself 2 months ago for free." You need to put things into perspective.

I guess its only worth using data recovery services if you've lost a hdd that had your thesis on that you've been working on for years. Then again if you don't backup....:erm:

It does take over R100k worth of equipment and a few years of learning what it takes, but I guess it's possible... I enjoy it, so I guess there is an element of fun. As the Joker says: " If you're good at something, never do it for free."

Roflmao........I can say proudly i am good in recovery data, and i do it for free:D.I have 750mb of software for that. But if all else fail i will pay for it.It seems my drive fell just low enough to fix..lol.

In all honesty he's actually not that expensive, his rates are lower than most DR companies I have used before (never used his services though).

He is confused between his pirated programs doing a recovery and a professional company taking his hard drive apart and recovering the data.
