Wish I could believe your isp, but I not seen anything listed on Saix as been a problem :(

Last night was diabolical. Wife and I had to give up on Ulduar 25 man as we were passengers for most of the time. Even though latency was showing around 700ms it felt more like 1500ms. Last couple of weeks have severly dented my mojo. When Woltk launched late last year I could often get sub 300ms, certainly in the 280 - 350 range regularly. Six months later changing nothing, apart from paying through my nose I struggle to consistently break 500ms, is this the improving broadband we were all promised!

Can a moderator not merge this topic : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=180787&page=2
and this one together, because it is the same issue.

Something I noticed, while im on IS Semi-Shaped and getting 800ms lag, it doesnt seem to be consistent... It almost comes in random lag spikes.
The strange thing is my pings to www.google.co.za remain at 280ms even through the lag spikes.

To be honest, its almost acting as though the wow ports are being port shaped?

Oh by the way - the reason your Traceroutes to wow europe isn't working is because they are blocking ICMP packets and windows tracert is stupid.

Wow uses UDP and port 3724 for all wow client/server communication.

This is a trace using UDP and using the wow PORT 3724.

If you have a Linux PC at your house, you can test this.

Code:
~# traceroute -U -p 3724 eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
traceroute to eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com (80.239.180.110), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

This was done from an IS Business DSL line (which should be the same as the IS Semi-Shaped).

My personal opinion is that I dont think we going to get anywhere with pings and traceroutes, I personally think this is a port shaping issue. (call it a hunch).

Wow Totaly Unplayable now :( hope its not port shaping cause if it is were screwed

Did a test on a telkom Line huge difference to iburst

Dont think it will Help this time seems iburst is having trouble with there Iburst, Adsl, Wimax and hsdpa Network

Axxess tech support tells me IS has been having issues on the network today (more so than usual I expect).

I am sick of the crap service we get from IS, they are a second rate network who don't give a stuff about the quality they fail to provide "semi-unshaped" customers. I have had better response times on a shaped line!

Im still lagging 300-400ms more than usual. It should be sorted in a few days, Level3 in europe had a sub sea cable failure from 29 of June which cause lots of latency to telia. They tell me should be fixed in few days.

There was a problem Yesterday, think there was a problem with the saix's Network effected most users 3g, iburst, adsl ect. Seems like Adsl pings are fine but iburst still lag spiking alot

On IBurst I have very low latency in lotro 220-230ms, just WoW which goes through level3 which is currently having problems.

Ahhh finaly at least we know then, nothing worse then having a problem and nobody knows what the problem is and just waiting for it to get fixed
