F1 2008

I find it kind of ironic that the Macca fans on here usually say "that's last year" when reminded about Hammi's bloopers in the last two races of last year when he had the championship by the scruff of the neck, but it is absolutely fine to quote about him being a genius from articles written last year:D.

So which is it boys: is last year admissable or not?:p

I don't get it - so does making mistakes in your first year exclude you from the genius column? Everyone knows Schummi and Senna both had their moments well into their careers, so I assume you apply the same logic... oh wait... you're biased... ;)

Well your arrogance is proven by the fact that you think you know it all - everything said above is not said as if it's your opinion...
I call that arrogance ;)
Of course you don't need to answer to me or anyone else, but learn to call a spade a spade.

All I can suggest is that a dictionary would be a good investment;).

I'm just verifying the limits of info for our debate over Hammi because the Macca supporters clear set a double standard, which you can't seem to understand:rolleyes:.

Perhaps we should stick to the facts which have already been stipulated and that is that Hamilton in his debut F1 season beat the reigning world champion (driving the same car), got 6 pole positions, won 4 races and got 9 consecutive podium finishes...

It might also be interesting to note that he dominated F3 in 2005 and GP2 in 2006, coming 1st in both seasons, was 1st in the formula A world cup in 2000, 1st in European formula A in 2000, 1st in formula renault UK 2003, 2nd F1 in 2007 and leads in 2008...

Oh and did we mention that he is only 22?!!

It doesn't take a genius to spot the genius...

Nicely said.

Heh... facts never stopped a Ferrari or M$ fanbooi :D

By default I am a Ferrari fan. Let me explain...

I grew up being driven in and now driving vw/Audi. I am an Audi fan through and through and I despise all things Mercedes/BMW as they are Audi's natural competitors in the motor industry and in motor sport. Until Audi is in fact competing in F1 I have no choice but to support Ferrari/Renault....

Having said that I'm man enough to admit that Hamilton is not your average rookie, in fact he is exceptional in every regard as is the Mclaren/Mercedes he is piloting...

As for MS, he has got to be one of the greatest if not the greatest racing driver of all time. I think his record proves that... Facts don't lie, believe it or not...

There is a difference between a fan and a fanbooi... in my definition (i.e. what I was implying)... fanbooi suggests that no-one else can beat them... ever... everyone else is inferior by definition. A fan is someone who enjoys the team/sportsman without being biased about the opposition. i.e. You can be a fan of a team or player who is not the best... but a fanbooi will never admit anyone else is better... they are either cheating, lucky (or have bad arrogant attitudes) lol...

A fan supports the team regardless of the weather... You can be upset that the opposition beat you... and you can have the opinion that you can beat the opposition on an average or good day... Nothing wrong with that...

Fanboois are those who sit quietly to see who is going to win or possibly can't lose... then they jump out of the woodwork with the loudest vuvuzela. Unfortunately successful teams like Ferrari and Manchester United will always attract Fanboois simply because they are successful. Now you can't blame the team for that, but as a supporter, know there are going to be plenty fanboois lurking amongst your numbers...

i really find it hard to believe that a guy who has not won a chamionship can be called a genius. maybe its just me.

why do ppl support teams?

i support drivers

i supported senna from the moment i started watching F1 not because he drove for some random team

so brad you would not support hamilton if he drove a ferrari?

brad has hamilton won a championship? losing by one point is losing

i didnt see him as F1 champ of 2007 with one point behind hahaha

Enough bickering already, let the results speak for themselves. ;)

According to Brad's defenitions, I'm sometimes a Mclaren fanbooi :D

aggg guys enough with hamilton is a genius talk

we will see over the next few races just how good he is

if he is a genius he should walk this season's championship and since he now has a year of f1 behind him i dont think he will waste a 20 or 30 point lead again
