F1 2011 thread

Well if you look at hamilton's final laps it's no wonder he had a good car, they must fueled that car very low. Massa was catching him at a massive rate at the end.

Well i agree with redbull why risk an accident on the last lap? What good would it have done if they collided and both dropped out. The redbulls though have never really been that far ahead when race day comes, i find it odd people think redbull have been so far ahead, in reality they actually have not been that far ahead on race day. If the wheel nut didn't get stuck it could have been another victory for vettel so i don't think anything has changed apart from ferrari sorting their back end out. Redbull was quick today, just a mistake cost them a possible race victory. Still a second and third is good for redbull.

We all know alonso is as good as gets in f1, give him a good car and he will win races and ferrari look like they have good car now. Much better than mclaren and right there with the redbulls.

I also feel for Webber as he was desperate to overtake Vettel. But the team order was right, as they might of knocked each other off the track. The last scrap between Hamilton and Massa was mighty exciting.

We also got a lot more team radio, esp from Mclaren on Hamilton's fuel issue. Surely the teams can say some communications strategy wise are not ment to be for TV.

Why the big fuss about Red Bull and team orders, for the second time in the last 2 races Massa had to race on worn tires because they don't bring him early enough favouring Alonso when it comes to pit stops. The team rule is Massa may only pit after Alonso, so in the end it really costs him in every race... As for Hamilton looked more like he was trying to run the other cars off the road than passing, made me think back to Schumi trying to win the world championship in his Benton years :P

It's RACING... that's what's wrong with F1... money.
Actually, .5 seconds every other lap is huge. It's only in recent races that Redbull have had some challenge... they are consistently faster than anyone else on track, or haven't you noticed?

Hamilton is exciting to watch, full stop. He's everything that's right about modern F1. It was nice to see Vettel being made to overtake for a change... that Vettel vs Hamilton stint was epic even though he dived into the pits.

I haven't noticed the redbulls being as fast you make them out to be, hamilton has crashed a lot, ferrari have only just got going but to be honest the redbull's race pace has not been as wide as you make it out to be.

Lots of races could have worked out differently if things never happened to help vettel romp away. Look at webber, if the redbull was so fast redbull should have finished way more races 1st and 2nd, well according to you they have but that has not been the case. Vettel has escaped to the front and when you are in the front unless you break down you don't crash. Perhaps they are faster on a one lap effort but i have not seen this amazing race pace you speak of. Where redbull have dominated is qualifying, it allows vettel the chance to escape but when it comes to race day that margin seems to disappear.

The mclaren was right up with redbull in the beginning of the season but hamilton could not stop having racing incidents that ruined his chances and let the vettel walk away.

I'm not saying Redbull and Vettel aren't doing the best job this year, but no doubt they have had the top car all season, to their credit.

Anyone know who the Saffer with Prince Harry is here - name is Jaco.... interviewed before the start of Silverstone (third from left)? Something about charity, the North pole and Afganistan... Their shirts say "Walking ....(something)... Wounded"

Actually, most teams give the lead driver the option on first stop. It's not rocket science to bring your quicker driver in first.

The problem with ferrari is they will make massa wait for 2-5 laps just in case alonso may need to come in.

Brilliant thanx :D. What i have always like about vettel is he seems like such a nice guy, not cocky or arrogant just happy go lucky :p

Now they must put that moaner hamilton around the track and see if he is faster :D
