F1 2013 thread

Anyone wondered if Massa is going to play nicely at Ferrari in the last bit of the season? Or is he going to go flat out to prove he can still drive, so as to secure a spot with another good team? I know he said he is a "team player" ... but at the end of the day, he has to look after himself.

Yes, they have stuck with him for what the last 2 seasons of poor driving driving, for about 30-45 seconds he had won the championship. He would have to drive 100% due to needing a drive next season. Ferrari have backed massa and i would imagine he is very thankful. Well he should be anyhow.

And Alonso. In a slow car on worn tyres to finish second. Helluva drive...

I feel for Grosjean....that really sucked.

You could hear the misery in his voice the moment that message came over the radio. Sounded like he was really pissed off with the car and the team. If it wasn't for Kimi moving to Ferrari I reckon he'd have considered a move from Lotus. This way he becomes the #1 driver at a team...

I see Vettel has stopped swearing in the post-race interviews. Hardly entertaining at all...

At the start Rosberg led before he ran wide. After 3 laps he was trailing Vettel by 3.9 seconds. Its not the 1st time Vettel has pulled away like that. Everytime he starts on pole he pulls away like his car is using fighter jet engines. Some explain to me why

Great race. I'm starting to ignore 1st place now, 2nd is the new first after vettel's constant domination.

He might be dominating but it was still a brilliant drove IMHO.

Well i would not say he pulled away after the safety car, he had a choice. Try drive to the end or gun it like a mad man lap after lap after lap and build up a big enough gap while the other manage their tires until the end. Drive of the day kimi not alonso.

It was an amazing sint by vettel, lap after lap he pumped near perfect laps. Rosburg i dunno WTF was wrong with him.

Alonso had a fantastic start, that was his saving grace. Kimi was the surprise, I know he is capable of doing exactly what he did, but I had ruled it out on account of his back issue. Very nicely done IceMan! Next year is going to be epic. Looks like Lotus is favoring Hulkenberg at this point for Kimi's spot... Then also maybe Massa (maybe it could be interesting). Would love to see Kubica back though.

Kimi Raikkonen today confirmed that he is leaving Lotus Renault Hashtag F1 and said he is delighted to be joining ‘whichever team this is’.

‘I am really pleased to be wherever this is,’ the Finnish driver added. ‘And I can’t wait for the first race of next season, wherever that is.’

Raikkonen went on to say he was excited to drive for a team with ‘some history or something’ and that he was pleased to be team mates with ‘that guy over there’.

‘Oh for ****’s sake,’ said Fernando Alonso later. ‘They promised it wouldn’t be someone good.

I think kubica is gone dude, last i heard he has not recovered to the point of driving a f1 car, could be 1 or 10 years he said in march or something like that, bbc article out there somewhere on his injury. Sadly he won't race in f1 again unless there has been a significant recovery since march/april.

Vettel has just been amazing. It's stating the obvious but he is so clearly in a class of his own. Sure his car is fast and Webber is mediocre. Would love to see someone decent partnering him so we could get a better idea of how much is car and how much is Vettel.

It's car, driver, and team. He has the best in class in all of those areas. And by team I mean his personal racing team...

I disagree, i believe the driver makes the team and car look good, would redbull have done so well without vettel? i don't think so. Alonso in my opinion does the same at ferrari. Vettel isn't like michael who dominated in the best car and had no rival at one point, he has 4 titles in a row(including this season) and considering the amount of talent he has been up against vettel makes that redbull look in a class of it's own. He got lucky last year to win the title.

No doubt the team do their job just as well as vettel but without vettel would redbull be so good? I doubt it. Same with mclaren, without hamilton look at them. Useless

I'm not aware of the article you mentioned, but he is back at rally driving again. So he must be capable to a point...
