F1 2014 thread

Not much you can say, just make sure you wake up in time for quali tomm.

Will def be up in time for quali. Catching up on FP2. The Ferrari's seem to be quicker than most people thought, and the Red Bulls aren't looking too bad.

Interesting that Aventus re Red Bull not looking too bad. Were they playing mind games during testing, and were they genuinely concerned by their troubles? Im a Ferrari fan, so im hoping Red Bull struggle, and that Alonso and Raikkonen can work together. There is alot of hot air between those 2, so will be very interesting to see how they work together. Personally I was hoping Ferrari had given Kobayashi the number 2 spot, or looked at Webber

I am a Ferrari fan as well, so it would be great if Red Bull struggled this year. However, from the amount of testing they managed to get done and the reports of the state of the Renault engine, it is surprising that they managed to get in quite a few laps at a good pace.
F1 has been struggling to keep viewers over the last few years, mainly due to Red Bulls dominance so reports of Red Bulls problems would probably have helped in getting more people interested in the build up to the season. With the team and facilities that Red Bull have, they probably will be up to the Mercs pace pretty soon.

One of Ferraris problems over the past couple of years has been that they have not managed to develop the car enough during the season, so it will be interesting to see how the car develops during this season. They seem to have a solid package to start with.

As far as the Alonso-Kimi pairing goes. Its great to have two world champions driving for the team. Massa's driving just wasnt the same after his accident, so it was time he went. I don't think Ferrari would have hired Kimi without Alonsos consent, and I think Alonso probably respects Kimi as a driver, so I hope that there aren't going to be issues there. Kimi would probably not have come back to Ferrari if he was told he would be the "number 2" driver.
Alonso doesn't take well to his team mates outperforming him, so if history is anything to go by, there probably will be some problems between them. The difference will be how Ferrari deals with it, if problems arise, as opposed to how Mclaren handled the Alonso-Hamilton issue.

Good intro video on the new cars, regulations etc.
2014 might have some surprises in store.

I haven't liked Alonso since he acted like a rat at McLaren, but I'm also interested in seeing how the Alonso/Raikkonen pairing pans out. "Kimi, Fernando is faster than you", answer would be "no he's not, now **** off and leave me to drive".

+100000

Germans...they give me the creeps with all their discipline and perfection crap

I just sit here and imagine how happy it will make me if Ricardo keeps being just that little bit faster than Vettel. I hope he can keep it up. Heck I might even stop hating Renault then.

RIC is looking really good. Vettel will get there...
