I've seen nothing else about Mick Schumacher leaving Haas at the end of the season. No mention anywhere including his Twitter profile.

I agree with this. The closer following distances allowed by the new aero mean the Drs boost isn't needed any more. The slipstream should be enough.
Give DRS only to the last car in a DRS train. Don't give DRS to front runners that are lapping back markers, as back markers need to move over anyway. So I guess then have a finite amount by if DRS and when used up then done, much like in formula e where they get that boost thingie. Then additional strategy comes into play.

Just do away with it entirely.
If you start changing it now Liberty/DTS will use it to add audience participation like that silly "Fan Boost" concept from the defunct A1 series.

I don't know who of you follow Cleetus Mcfarland on YouTube. Basically he has a bunch of Crown Victoria's. He gets a bunch of friends and other Youtubers to race these. All the cars are the same equipped with nitrous. Its up to the drivers to choose when to use it. Makes the racing massive fun to watch. It will have a huge impact on other teams strategies as well. So I agree, from a fan point to make DRS limited use only. Maybe even allow the drivers to choose when and get rid off the 1 second gap. If he wants o catch up for overtake, hit that button.

wasnt fan boost in formula e?
Dont remember it being in A1
You may be right. I just recall giving up on both series because of the gimmicks and, in the case of formula e, for the constant screeching of rubber in place of PU Noise.
