"I'm extremely excited to be making my F1 debut with such a prestigious team as McLaren," said Piastri, "and I'm very grateful for the opportunity that's been offered to me. The team has a long tradition of giving young talent a chance, and I'm looking forward to working hard alongside Lando to push the team towards the front of the grid. I'm focused on preparing for my F1 debut in 2023 and starting my F1 career in papaya."

Messy FP2 broadcast.

No on screen live timing and sector colours. Ted and Crofty arguing on air and Crofty described Max's new helmut in the colours of Jost's helmut, but Perez and his helmut were on screen.

60min of embarrassing on air issues.
Ted spending 2 mins saying he wants to talk about Piastri instead of just talking about Piastri was ridiculous.

One thing that is clear after this Piastri saga: Otmar is in no better position than he was at Aston Martin. There, he was just Stroll's puppet and now, he didn't even know that Alonso was leaving yet Alonso had already informed upper management. He was also obviously fed BS from the top because last weekend he was still banging on that he had a solid contract with Piastri.

Maybe, just maybe, he's not as nice as everyone thinks he is...

Brilliant lap, pity it could not be challenged, but good qualifying session.
