I loved the Ferrari presentation. It was brief and to the point. The car itself looks gorgeous!

The Ferrari is my favorite looking F1 car for 2022.

No one has commented on the Hi Tech "secret room" that will monitor things and act as the "Third Umpire" or as FIA is full of it the "Turd Umpire".

Personally I think he swept it under the carpet and used Michel Masi as the fall guy.

But I was not expecting anything more and by having alternating race directors he is compounding rather than fixing the problem.

Fall guy doesn't really fit as he wasn't innocent or falsely blamed for the something that went wrong. He did do what he was blamed for.
But that is the point, they have not blamed him for anything, they have not admitted it was wrong they have just said he will be offered a different post in the reshuffle.

They hope that by removing him as race director it will appease MB and LH without having to admit that anything untoward has happened or any wrong was done.

They were supposed to investigate the Couse not the effect.

Appease MB and LH? Do they own F1? I mean, let's be honest here, and nobody on the MB or LH camp, wants to admit, that Masi kept them in the title fight right to the end.

I'm not sure why Masi has to take the fall for this, because Toto and Horner have in some ways manipulated Masi in doing things, which would favour them during a race.

That direct line of communication to Masi should never have happened in the first place.

Maybe Masi went "**** this **** I'm out!"?

That's what I'd do, who'd want all the 2021 nonsense coming up everytime you have to make a call?

He has a point

Mind listing the calls over the season to highlight this? I actually feel things were pretty even over the course of the season with the show having a 'directed/manufactured' feel to it like never experienced before and Max and Lewis both gained and lost from this, as did RB and Merc over the course of the season.

For me, Masi had to go. He regularly proved over the duration of the season how weak he was in decision making wrt to safety and relating integrity to the sport. Regardless of which fan base you're on, surely folks can agree Masi record over the season did nothing but harm the image of the sport and there was going to be a taint regardless who won at the end.

And yes, while much can be debated, chances are, unless Masi's poor decision making led directly to a death or near death situation, he was never going to be replaced until season end, regardless. FIA are nothing but consistent in putting their self-perceived 'image' above that of the sport.

Is Masi the fall guy to some degree, possible/likely. Is it RB or MB to blame, I'd say neither tbh, and say fans should be targeting their disdain squarely at Liberty Media and Netflix for embarrassing sh1te show things had become by the end of the season.

The sport was clearly pushed in the direction for as much 'marketable drama' as possible, screw it's integrity, which is a real shame... But hey, that's 'sport' these days in a nutshell, especially of the US variety unfortunately.

If the FIA really wanted a level playing field they should regulate Newey and not wind tunnels.

Why? People love to remember his glory days, and always so quick to forget the others. Same with Brawn.

But man, those yesteryears, when 23 of 25 or something consecutive constructor and driver championships were won by either Brawn or Newey car. What a streak that was.
