While I think you're probably right, I also think that the next few races might be able to prove the above point better. He now has a "competitive" car, if he still crashes or doesn't do much then he is probably **** and not up to the task.

I think he's a lot better than people give him credit for, bearing in mind Haas did him no favours having two rookies in the same team last season in a pos car, K-mag is no slouch and been around the block a few times, but I think Mick is good enough to at least give him a run for his money.

I think with K-Mag in the team, and being as experienced as he is, Mick can at least learn from another driver now which is good.
Although I think Seb is a great mentor to him, having an experienced driver in the team definitely helps.

And the Russian is now gone, never to return. Win-Win!

"... Team principal Fred Vasseur acknowledged that Alfa Romeo has to keep up in the development race if it is to carry the fight to its rivals over the season. ...

“We will have a new part on the floor for Imola - it will only be the floor this week. So far it looks OK.” ...

However Vasseur says the Alfa strategy is to introduce updates as soon as possible rather than worry too much about the intricacies of the particular venue and race weekend format.

"If you wait like this, after Imola it’s Miami, which is quite tricky. Then you have Barcelona, which is okay, but then it's Monaco, it's Baku, it's Montreal.

“You have perhaps two different approaches between the teams. Is it easier to bring a big package each four events, or to try to introduce one component every single event?

“We did it like this three years ago, because two years ago and last year, we didn't develop the car.

“And I think it was very successful for us, and we will have the same approach. We will try to bring updates, not every single race, but almost. ..."
