Red Bull, for example, has not complained about the issue at all whereas its chief title rival Ferrari’s car is clearly more exposed to it. And Mercedes is suffering from poor ride quality that is a result of the stiffness of its car concept and a lingering porpoising problem, even though the worst of that was cured by upgrades introduced in Spain.
So, it may be against Red Bull’s competitive interests to support rule changes that would help its rivals, while also requiring amendments to its own car for a problem it is not suffering from.
Russell said that this was not a performance-enhancing change the drivers were asking for but one in the interest of safety and wellbeing.
Asked by The Race about the FIA being open to change to alleviate worst of it, but other teams potentially blocking it, Grand Prix Drivers Association director Russell said: “For what it’s worth, we’re not as massively in favour for it as a team.
“Because every race we do, we’re learning more and more about the car, and any changes, it’s going to limit that learning.
“It’s clearly just a safety limitation. The top three teams are all in the same position, Ferrari and Red Bull, Ferrari probably more than Red Bull, you can see they’re really struggling with that.
“Nobody is doing it for performance enhancement, it’s for safety reasons. I can barely see the braking zone because I’m bouncing around so much.”
Sources have indicated that F1 and the FIA consider this primarily an issue for the teams because they are responsible for their cars being safe for their drivers and can alter their set-ups to counter the issue if needed. ..."

Speculating here, but I'm sure it will improve the performance of the driver.

I haven't watched qualifying yet, probably won't get a chance, but I see Checo out qualifying Max again.
I would not have bet money on it at the start of the season but he can actually take the WDC if things go his way.

I think this season might just be tougher for Max. Last year he only had to contend with Lewis. This year he's got both Ferrari and his team mate to worry about.
Prime case of a pay driver...consistently outperformed by his team mate this year who even missed 2 GPs due to Covid.

And Checo is wringing the life out of that RBR, much like Russell is doing with the Merc, Seb with the AMR and Le Clerc with that Ferrari. All outperforming their peer drivers.
Today's race is going to be very cool to watch. Le Clerc is going to bottle that start. Watch.
More "This car is bouncing man" comments from the Sir while Russell continues his run of form; Seb to finish a remarkable 2nd again (one can only hope!); Checo to win; Latifi to finish in the top 10. My predictions.

I think this track must give HAM ptsd, if he'd not messed up here last year, he'd be champion still. Purely his mistake last time.

Yep. You can't say that you're struggling to see braking points, which would impact performance, because of the bouncing and then say decreasing bouncing won't have a performance impact.
Merc's been pushing for active suspension as a solve. I wonder what the other teams have in mind.

It's a challenging track. Those narrow roads won't accommodate inflated egos. Patience is key. That monster straight will offer more than enough opportunities for over taking. The teams with the straight line speed are going to be hard to resist. I'm expecting tons of over taking.
Let's hope Ferrari don't butcher their strategy today.

I think for the amount of cr@p Checo took last year in not helping Verstappen win like a good wing man for most of the races, he's clearly on the same level of preference in the team, and hooked that RBR so nicely.
