RUS trying his luck getting back into the race by arguing with the marshals was a bit pathetic.
Why pathetic? They reset the positions other drivers gained during the first few corners so why should he be DNF'ed?

You're in a championship, obviously you'll try everything to compete and finish with points.

In my sport if you go to the assistance of another competitor in need, you will be compensated for any prejudice you suffer.

FIA followed their rules, George did the right thing as a human and a sportsman. Not a great outcome, perhaps the rules need a look...?

uhm, his car was on a flatbed and he did not drive on own power into the pits.
Motorsport does have a rule book you know.

He told the martials not to touch it, but they ignored him and loaded it onto a flatbed without his consent.
You can't call on the rule book to defend your own officials mistakes, I thought they leaned that lesson the hard way.
However, Woff did say, after the race, that there was little chance he could have got it started again anyway.

It's like you completely missed what I said.

Where's that whoosh picture? Hold on

What did Russel do in the pits then before his car was in the pits? His car was not loaded while he was at ZHO.
Its clear from the TV feed timelines that he gave up on the car and walked back to the pits.

What must marshals do? - Listen to all 20 drivers before they do their JOB at a racetrack?

Case in point - Toto trying his luck and failed.
No harm in trying but it does make you look pathetic.

It was, Russell was arguing with the marshals and flatbed driver at the accident spot when he went back to his car where he had parked, it was shown on tv, maybe you missed it?

Hope for his sake it was a Toto instruction to try and play the emotion card.

Well done Carlos, you showed some balls to the team and got the win.

Halo FTW as that was a horrible accident
Slightly more than a bit pathetic but I suppose since its home ground he had to make some sort of impression.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for the marshals to have loaded his car up. There was no way that car was getting back to the pits without completely damaging the floor - if it could even get back to the pits.

What do you want the marshals to do here? The driver left the vehicle and the car looks like it wouldn't make it back on it's own power.

FIA was right not to let Russell race again, despite his good intentions. It would have opened the doors for other drivers to try do the same in future incidents. The clearer F1 rules are, the better.

We are already struggling to keep up with all these other rules that are open to interpretation. Including the disaster of a decision to restart the race in qualifying order. They could have easily checked on TV who was were when the red flag was called and then kept that order. Luckily that decision didn’t have much affect on the results.

Unfortunately, the rules are correct.

The argument is drivers are not equipped nor trained to offer emergency assistance to another driver. The risk is they either worsen the situation or find themselves in trouble too.

Why don't you do a little research before posting?

What other drivers do you want to call out for not condemning Ecclestone?
Perfect...don't get your knickers in a knot. He'd called out Piquet quite correctly, but you guys bookmark all the Hamilton news sites so thankfully you could share that at very quick notice.

Yeah, that's not cool. Let's hope they don't do that crap again today.
They did...probably butthurt because the Poms are going to get destroyed in the cricket, and they lost in the rugby too.

Nope, he told the marshalls to leave his car. They seemed unable to understand or listen to what he said. He was fully within his rights to tell them that knowing the car would be repairable.
Rules are rules though unfortunately no matter how much you try to get it undone.

Fantastic race yesterday. From Verstappen jumping Sainz at the first start, to Hamilton pulling that Merc off the line so incredibly fast, both crashes (and thankfully the guys were unhurt...but that technology is incredible); Sainz winning; Checo dropping down to last and 20 seconds behind to end 2nd; Seb starting 18th and ending 9th and Mick's first points.
Lots of action, racing was close. What more could have been asked of a race?
Hoping that Austria is a cracker too.
