I missed something

Will Buxton thought it was a great idea to interview a 5-year old F1 fan and then have him commentate the start of the race. Had the personality of a cabbage, completely pointless segment, extremely irritating interview.

De Vries is in trouble I'm afraid. I saw it happen during the live race. Now summoned to the stewards.

Reviewed his onboard during the safety car and he almost shunted an Alfa Romeo twice right by the scene of Daniels car on the removal tractor. Warming brakes and not concentrating ahead of him.

I really hope he doesn't lose his debut points. He definitely deserves a 2023 seat...

F1 productions really did their best to minimise the booing didn’t they? Never heard so many wheel guns and other stock audio of crowds on loop ever before.

Totally. Then turned the mic's back on for the Charles cheers!

FIA pres did NOT look impressed.

Even if he doesn't get the points he's proven that he can finish top 10, that too in his first race. With De Vries and Albon, Aston should be concerned especially without Vettel to salvage some dignity...

I'm starting to think perhaps there should be a drinking game while watching F1 sessions. Spot Ben and you drink - he's everywhere, all the time. I'm surprised he doesn't stand in the cool down room after every race.

Something about him just irritates me

You're quite right. Jean Todt was never like this. But it's like this new ou needs to be shaking hands & front and centre at every single stage of an F1 weekend, pointy shoes and all....

Anyone else notice Jonathan Wheatley giving Max a chat before the podium? No doubt it went somewhere along the lines of "They're going to boo us so just smile and wave..."

Yoh he's going to set new records.
Helmut Marko has said Max might get bored and retire earlier than people would expect and I remember Max saying something along the lines of not seeing the point of winning f1 WDC over and over again and that there are other series to win like Le Mans.

But lets see, as long as RBR is winning he has to at the very least finish the current contract. Wonder if that is why it is such a long contract.

The long contract is to lock in the price. Good for RB if Max continues to perform. Bad for Max if Max continues to perform. Only favours Max if Max drops in performance.

We've got a two week hiatus before the next race. Boohoo

Anyway, I'm confused by how many of the F1 media/pundits/fans are upset at how the race ended yesterday. After Abu Dhabi they were upset that the race director used his initiative to not have the race end under a safety car and now they're upset that the race director let the race end under a safety car. Surely you can't be upset about both?

I don't think he's struggling for cash :D
