Merc want to be up there competing for the win. Points come as a result of that.
You're slightly right in that they are ahead of Alonso on points in the Constructors. That's simply because Stroll is not pulling his weight at all. If he was, and scored more points Merc would be third.

Hope this helps you heaps now! Performance-wise...not points.

TL;DR Merc drivers are doing a better job than AMR drivers given their car is a piece of crap by comparison.

Again...Merc are referring to performance. You need to spend less time arguing a silly point (or just arguing "because"_ and more time reading what they are saying. Get to grips with the intent behind it all.

...which is PRECISELY why I said points come as a result of performance. Currently they're nowhere near competing for a win. Read...kids of today just don't do it. Read more about what they're saying.

This is BS. It was pouring and not one team put on full wets. If they choose to drive on inters and cars fly off its plain dof

Best drivers in the world can only do FULL POWER in the wet and it must be on intermediates too. Wets are for amateurs. :laugh:

The complaining is not about the tyres, it's about visibility. Even if they put the wets on they still wouldn't be able to see. Not sure what the point of wets is then, and how they drove in the rain 20+ years ago...

Not to mention exercise a bit of restraint - something some drivers aren't used to... the cars are too easy to drive in the dry probably.
If you're going to die at 240kph then drive 200kph.

Do you forget the days of driving in the wet even before they had big bright flashing red lights on the back of the cars? I'm sure most would agree that safety is important but the red flagging for rain has reached new levels of absurdity.

It's turning into cricket. Slight bit of rain and play must stop. Problem is there's no self control anymore, it's flat out or nothing. When conditions change you have to drive within the limits of those conditions. Drivers from bygone eras understood that, they don't anymore...

The thing that grates me is it's the same for everyone. It's not as though one driver is disadvantaged over another.
They can probably also add LEDs all over the track limits to help... and as has been said, if they get more out of inters then it's not wet enough for wets and should not be impossible to see...
