Merc honestly need to stop chasing this ideal of them being right behind RBR. They're nowhere near that. They have AMR (OK, only Alonso!) to get passed first, while McLaren and Williams have improved their cars exceptionally well in the past couple of races.
And one Ferrari in Sainz is also in front of them so they're mid-field right now. Still.

I stand corrected, thanks. Though I've gone down the wrong path completely due to a lack of understanding of aquaplaning.

Basically the tyres are the limit and the height of the vehicle means little to nothing (assuming ground clearance is greater then tyre tread depth). So we can blame Pirelli!! That's just one step away from blaming the FIA I reckon? @Hamster

F1 fans, racing is boring, cars can't pass due to aerodynamics
F1 rules change to make downforce from floor of car and we see closer racing and more overtaking.
Also
F1 fans, these drivers are sissies. they don't want to drive in wet.
HMM maybe because of the downforce from floor that now kicks up way more water from the surface.

F1 fans, racing is boring because Max is winning all the time. So no need for passing. lol

But at least it's not boring.

Just finished my onboard race watching...

Completely missed by pretty much everyone, was Max and Gasly banging wheels during the first downpour. At turn 1, just before Max passed Gasly on the same lap, Max's front left banged Gasly's right rear. Max even asked GP to check the car shortly afterwards.

I'm very surprised Sky didn't pick up on this, considering they have people listening to team radio.

I think the drivers are a bit reluctant to drive in those conditions due to the fact that there has been some deaths caused by wet driving in F3, F2 recently. I can understand it. There is no visibility and you are hurtling at 250KM/h around a corner without knowing what is in front of you.

This dude is becoming a meme and not a good one. Carlos is out performing this year as well. Can't be in a good mental space.
Out performing? He has a 3 point lead after Le Clerc's dnf.
Le Clerc had a lot of dnf's through the season but has 3-4 podiums. He is way faster than Sainz. Old slow boat Sainz just score constant 5-10th places. Ferrari could get much better drivers just from the current grid, than Sainz.

I agree. Still he is more consistent that Le Clerc this year. Remember a few of those DNF's were his own fault. This weekend was mainly due to him crashing his car during Quali which left the car quite stuffed for race day. Then Ferrari has also not done him any favours this season (or every other season).

I think Charles should move to another team in my opinion. His talent is wasted at Ferrari atm.

What planet are you on?
Merc are ahead of AMR. Macca aren't even in the same picture.
