Sh*tty street circuits and their unnecessary problems.

The drain damaged Ocon's car as well. The damage is extensive enough to warrant both cars being written off, forcing a chassis change for both teams. Vasseur isn't impressed.

Angry Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur labels Las Vegas GP drain cover drama “unacceptable for F1”

Vasseur appeared in the FIA press conference after FP1, alongside Toto Wolff, Zak Brown and James Vowles.

"We damaged completely the monocoque, the engine, the battery. I think it’s just unacceptable,” he said.

"It cost us a fortune. We f*Cked up the session for Carlos. We won’t be part of FP2 for sure…. I think it’s just unacceptable for F1 today."

The interviewer quickly moved onto the other team bosses, who were more willing to give responses.

what is concerning for me is that the focus seems to be on honoring ticket holders first and driver safety second.
that is just the feeling I get from the statement
Nah, they're simply communicating to the public. I'm sure that in private there's plenty of communication happening.

Willing to risk driver safety on crappy makeshift tracks like this because "spectacle". But Kyalami can't get a race...

It's pretty crazy, they want most of Kyalami's gravel replaced with tarmac but big money tracks with zero runoff are perfectly fine. Figures.

Ferrari team boss taking no prisoners during the team principals interview. Very cringe but well deserved as the interviewer is trying to brush the FP1 incident aside by asking him about the spectacle that is Vegas while Ferrari are worried about their car.

How long can they pretend to delay the start of FP2 before they commit to cancelling the session?
