Well you can only see the success of a team boss a year after he started as everything is planned well in advanced.
Fred is showing it now what a big difference he made.
Thoughts and prayers to AM
Binotto hardly had a shot as far as Ferrari terms go. Much of binottos work is still in that car.

It is easy, make the only tires available for Monaco, wets and intermediates. See how long those two last on a dry track. Then you will have guys sliding around on worn tires in 10 laps while others are on brand new ones.

That damn chicane after the tunnel should be removed and just have it as a straight section, pretty sure chances of overtaking will increase, with a DRS zone in there. Back in the day there was no chicane. It's so frustrating to not have decent opportunities to overtake on this track year after year. They should really think hard about some kind of change, that's if they even care. Always using tradition as an excuse not to improve the racing there. Just one decent proper overtaking spot will make the races at Monaco much more exciting and interesting.

If they don't want to change the fcuking track, then implement just for this race something different with special tire compounds which has a bigger differential in time (2.5 sec) between them.

That would be monster crash waiting to happen. With DRS, they will arrive at Tabac at well over 300 km/h with zero runoff. And Tabac isn't a slow corner, they take it in 4th/5th gear at 170 km/h already. It would be carnage.

And the chicane has always been there in some form. The original one was hair raising. 1:07.

They can open up that corner by making the track wider right there - opportunity on the outside for the brave.

No idea why people are complaining about Monaco and the lack of excitement.

The guy who got in front almost always remained there. Enrique Bernoldi trolling David Coulthard for lap-after-lap in 2001. DC was so much faster but could not find a way around Bernoldi's Arrows. Senna holding off Mansell who was over 2 seconds a lap faster on fresher tyres.

Monaco has always relied on the weather and high attrition rate to generate excitement. For example, the 1996 and 1997 races, which saw 4 and 10 cars respectively running at the finish. In both instances rain caused chaos and literally tore the field to pieces as people crashed everywhere. In fact, between 1994 and 1998, less than half the field would finish a Monaco Grand Prix, because if it wasn't raining, the nature of the circuit saw a lot of accidents and gearbox failures (race with the highest amount of gear changes at a time when car reliability was not what it is today).

Now, not only are the cars far more reliable and drivers less error prone, reducing Monaco's once high attrition rate, the cars are also much, much bigger which compounds the overtaking issue on a track with little room.

The cars have outgrown the track and the space limitations make it almost impossible to make significant changes. So, it is a question of whether F1 still has an appetite to keep their crown jewel or move on from it.

you litrally just explained all the reasons why it should be removed from the calendar absolutely perfectly

All the highlights of all the monaco races in 4 minutes, there might be a few they missed, but it sums up the only highlights you get out of Monaco:

Two things that could potentially make Monoco better is trying to find a way to make a certain part of the track a bit wider for potential overtakes and enforcing mandatory pit stops specifically for Monoco. The latter might make or break a team's chances in winning the race, which could lead to some excitement for TV viewers.

Monoco has too much history and money to be taken off the calendar, but they need to do something to make race day better.

IMO, a mandatory tyre usage rule will have little to no effect as we've seen that overtaking on new tyres is still by and large impossible. Also, when it comes to strategy, there will be an optimal race day one and all the team engineers will know that and all stick to it, basically canceling each other out.

forget about history and money. in order to grow in your life you need to be able to improve the things that work and remove the things that dont work.
its litrally the entire point of F1. find what works improve it. find what does not work and remove it.

why can we not apply the same rule for tracks? wiht the current wide cars wiht as much downforce as they have monaco is a wasted race. keep it for F2. but remove it for F1 or change the regulations to make the cars less wide while keeping the same safety standards.

the real Classic tracks are still fantastic for racing. look at Silverstone. look at Interlagos. every year without fail its one of those two that are looked back on as the best race of the season.

improve the cars or remove Monaco. its that simple.
