Pit crew being out of practice comment: saw an overhead angle that showed Lando stopped beyond the mark. They had to reposition.

I only started supporting him after the Abu Dhabi injustice as at that point, I was a Red Bull fan. I cried when he won yesterday. This season can go to sh*ts also but that was a special sign-off there.

You been going on, ranting about Lewis ever since, but nowhere have I seen anybody say it was one of Lewis greatest races ever, the general feedback has been he was 'solid' and folks happy he got a win, got the monkey off his back.

That you cannot have a simple discussion about Max's performance without dragging Lewis into the conversation on a negative reason speaks volumes mate.

Was Lewis solid, I think so, was it one of his greatest races, no, but then, nobody has been saying that and, like I said in my 1st post, I do think Max was solid/ good, but again, not one of his greatest.

That was a good race, not gonna lie.

The lead swapped so many times in the beginning there, it was great!

Lewis was a pro not only qualifying in second but also maintaining the lead.

Max had a phenomenal drive and he was so menacing in those final laps, must've put the fear of God into Lewis chasing him down like that!

George was doing so well until his car failed him

Lando was let down by that last tyre change. He could have won it!

Piastri was let down by that first pit stop. McLaren needs to learn from this, they can't do this to their drivers again... Great drive, still.

Honorable mentions go to Sainz, Hulk, Albon, Alonso and Stroll all managing to bag points. What happened to Alpine though

I think that if Lawson shows good pace in the RB20 this week, we might get to see a Nick de Vries/Danny situation unfold in the next week or two.

Let see if they give Checo until summer break or pull the trigger by Hungary.
 
I was not impressed with the trailer.
the speech Pitt gives talking about the other teams having straight line speed on them and how they need to attack on the corners felt like it was product placement worked into the script.

I am looking forward to high quality onboard footage, and maybe there will be more to the story than the trailer showed.
but so far it feels like it will be more "need for speed" and less "Gran Turismo"
the one was a good movie with solid story revolved around racing, and the other was no story all action all racing shifting gears makes go fast type of shallow thing aimed at American teenagers who cant drive a manual car. (says the 38 year old who cant drive a car)

the more I think about it, the more I hope there is more to the story than the trailer showed. because I dont want the trailer to spoil the movie like they always do lately.

Nah, the DTS thread is your domain, it's where you get your F1 "knowledge".

The rest of us who have been watching for ages will just stick to the purists thread we allow you to visit.
 
Also quite looking forward to the movie to see how close they get it to feel like an actual F1 storyline, hopefully it is not too close to the Need For Speed way of doing things, but from what I understand Brad has been in the paddock plenty and they seem to be trying to get the right feeling for post race interviews and whatever, but well have to see when it releases

Pitt spending time in the paddock and training with Lewis, and actually driving an F2 car successfully is a few great positives.
unfortunately Dominicalli and Ben Sullmen also having a big say is where there is going to end up being some DTS style exaggerations in things.

maybe it will be manged well and written well enough to make for a good story. maybe it will be just another bad racing movie. to be fair Brad Pitt has been really good since he started doing movies he wanted to do instead of movies for the money. he is one of the few actors who has not really been involved in anything with just bad all around writing at least not in recent times.
I am actually struggling to think of anything he has ever been in that had bad writing now? so there is hope

There is definitely hope, it looks like he is really into it from the interviews and clips I've seen, so I hope that DTS stays far away from it and its an actual coherent story that fits, if done well it could be the push that newer fans need to get more involved in the sport I think
