Yeah Perez actually had a good drive and deserves his congrats... Verstappen was driving the snot out of that RedBull but it just couldn't do the business.
I saw some onboards of his understeer - the man was almost full lock and the thing wouldn't turn properly.

Seeing reports that Max was running an old floor which was at least 2 tenths slower and a bigger rear wing - not sure if they got it all wrong because of a rained out FP3 or if they sacrificed the race for data to plan a way forward out of this hole they are in.

At this stage, the constructors looks like a sure thing for Mclaren while the drivers is going to be super tight. 9 races and 3 sprints to come - Max doesn't have enough of a lead to do it just with second places - he's going to need a win or 2.

Fact though, chances of Lando winning all 9 remaining races is definitely not 100% guaranteed according to history.

Even Max's winning streak ended at 10 wins I think and Lewis at 9 wins?

It's going to come down to that race where they bungled the team orders...
Yup.

You can place bets on RBR and Max doing everything possible to keep the WDC, at least until the very end.
Mclaren most probably going to snatch the WCC this year.

Then 2025 it is game on with Mclaren looking to be the favourites for both WDC and WCC if the current trend keeps going.

Max has a 10 and a 9 in 2 seperate runs.
seb had a 9 win run.

I think the most Lewis did was a 5 race winning streak. if I remember, its one of the few records LH does not have have, and I dont think he ever held that record. and I don't think he ever will. unless the Ferrari 2026 power unit is a beast and the other engines struggle with reliability (doubt that I think the Merc PU will be dominant)

WRT the race, yes the win was a foregone as soon as LN got past MV, I think MV could just about keep DRS for 1 lap then LN was gone, so with that the result was boring, but the actual race was far from - good moves down the order, no crashes / DNF's etc etc etc

WRT championships, I reckon both will go down to the wire - more the constructors than drivers and here's why:
LN this year atleast is still not there, once he ( or McL ) get over their start "disasters" then yes, he can be a champ... But then again, he is in it to win it, so here's hoping.
From constructors point of view, again if McL dont f' it up, its theirs to take it - again a weird radio strat call yesterday with WJ asking LN "who they racing", like WTAF...
Dont know if they trying to be like MV & GP, but that sounded more of a serious strat comm.

If McL has to get their strats calls perfect, then they will be unstoppable come end of the year & into 2025

I think if Ferrari and Merc come to the party to help Lando Lando will take it.

but the only way that will happen is if other drivers take some serious points from Max. he needs to not finish on the podium for a few races in order for Lando to actually catch him. a few wins with fastest lap, and a DNF or 2 for Max will make the championship interesting but still not tight

This is a good point.

I can also see that Max and the team have accepted their situation. While they are working to try add performance, they know that they can still bag the drivers if they avoid DNF's and damage and maximise each race result points wise. Max was super lucky to not DNF in Austria or after going airborne with Lewis. I think he will now be very cautious of contact for the rest of the season. A DNF will be deadly.

For those wondering … DOTD:

Lando Norris - 24.6%

Charles Leclerc - 17.5%

Lewis Hamilton - 14%

Carlos Sainz - 8.6%

Max Verstappen - 7.8%

This is a good point.

Agreed. I think they will also target a few of the "stronger" RB tracks like Texas, Monza and Brazil? See if they can try and squeeze out a win there

Wasn't that around the time that Adrian Newey was excluded from technical meetings following his announcement of retirement.

Ok, here's a wild bizarre scenario that would make the DTS fan cream his pants as its an idea that would be perfectly scripted for DTS - imagine if ( and by if I would mean like 1 in a billion ) chance that AN has secretly signed back up with McL - McL has been on the up since then, RB has been on the down since then... There was also that 1 Freudian slip of the tongue by EJ when he said something like "Zak will buy you a bike":whistling::eek:

There is talks of AN to AM, but what if its AN back to McL:popcorn:
Hahaha
:sneaky::ROFL:🧡

I would've had no issue with Charles, Ham or Sainz tbh.

yeah norris got chowed at the start

apparently his 6th front row start and losing the lead

charles sainz or ham did well in getting positions

charles did well to hold off piastri

but its UK voters so thats why its norris

That's all true. But he pulled Max's briefs down while bringing him back to earth with a 20s win. Anyone who did that would get my DOTD...
