Since the anthem of the winning driver plays, are you now complaining about teams or drivers? It's hard to keep up who this British mafia is...

The Mercedes-powered Williams was the fastest car in a straight line at the start of the hybrid era, faster than even Mercedes itself in the speed traps, and were regulars on the podium. In 2014 & 2015 Williams finished 3rd in the Constructor's. From 2015 - 2017 both Williams and Force India (the other Mercedes-powered team) finished in the top-5. It is only as the other manufacturers started closing the gap and Williams lost its way in the aero department (and ran into money trouble) that they slipped back.

Listen I know you DTS fans know little about F1 but it seems that Leclerc, Vettel and Schumacher were all Italian citizens.

Well I hate to break it to you but fastest straight line speed has often more to do with downforce. Wasn't Williams fastest or among them in 2022/2023 too?

The complete opposite. More downforce = more drag = slower car.

There is a reason why they run skinny wings and lower downforce at a track like Monza. And at the 2014 Italian Grand Prix the first 3 rows were locked out by Mercedes-powered cars. A track that is all about power and speed. 7 of 8 Merc-powered cars qualified in the top-10. So yeah, as I said, other Mercedes-powered cars were benefiiting from Merc's dominance at the start of te hybrid-era.

Williams' weakness and what led to their decline in the late 2010s was the lack of downforce in the corners and general aero instability at low speeds.

HUH? I said its about downforce. Not more downforce or less downforce. Everyone know less downforce makes you faster. Thats is exactly the point. They setup there cars with little downforce, that's why they hit the fast speeds on the straights, not the engine.

I am not going to argue with you.

Check my comment again, I added the qualifying for the 2014 Italian Grand Prix. Top-6 cars were all Mercedes-powered, even the sh*tty McLarens made use of the power advantage afforded by the Merc PU.

On a track that doesn't rely on downforce and power/speed shines through you had 6 Merc-powered cars locking out the top-6.

If they wanted Oscar and Lando to go racing, it should have happened much sooner in the championship. Not this late into it. At this stage it should be clear who the main contender is and who needs to provide support. On that basis, Lando did better to get this close and Oscar should be providing the supporting role.

Next year when they go racing and if Oscar should find himself being the main contender by this stage, I would expect Lando to provide the supporting role. This 'Papaya rules' thing should apply in the first half to determine who your main contender is, not the whole season. You would think that a competitive team (especially one with a history of this) should understand this by now...

They've been racing this entire time. Happy to see how it plays out but I'm still of the opinion that either driver will determine their own future rather than Piastri being a good wingman...

And next year Lando could be a good wingman. People rarely win closely fought championships on their own...
