Its just me postulating a way to circulate newbies into F1
but what is the point in F1 teams having a Junior program then?
That stays in place, but what if the guy winning F1 isn't part of a junior program? Is he stuck? What if there are no available seats like in beginning of 2024?
and who builds the Engine and the car for the Prema team in F1?
There is a standard FIA vehicle, but I assume it would be easier to have a deal with Merc or Red Bull, then someone like Dallara could develop on top of that? Maybe Prema has the capacity? Maybe they can have a deal that because they are a junior team they can use, say, Merc's previous year's car like the OG Racing Point?
Preama team racing 1 rookie and one "mentor" driver in the championship winning car from the year before maybe?
or maybe a Rookie is allowed 2 years in Prema F1, to help the next rookie in their second season?
I like that idea too. The driver can use that time to find a contract with a professional team.
FIa will never go for it because it dilutes the prize pool, and it will be an F1 team wiht no value of its own. so I cant see a team like Prema taking that risk.
I would say it would focus more on experience for rookies than prize money.
Plus isnt that exactly what the Vcarb team is supposed to be?
For Red Bull drivers, yes it is. For everyone else, hahaha nope.
and to an extent, Williams for Merc, and alfa for Ferrari?
Williams: Has its own academy (Hello Franco Colapinto)
Sauber: Has its own academy (Hello Zane Maloney-- Hey look its BORTALETO!)
Haas: Basically the Ferrari academy, but not quite. "Hey Haas I have this Bearman guy who wants a drive..."
Mercedes: Has an academy, usually interns drivers at Williams but not sure now. Seems to hire the newbs straight into its main team, apparently
Aston Martin: Has an academy. Drugovich stays on the sidelines in perpetuity with more drivers queuing up behind him.
I know Williams is no longer the Merc junior seat, and Sauber is no longer the Ferrari junior seat (that is now Hass)
I think the new engine manufacturers may have their own demands, like Audi and Toyota wanting a junior program
