F1 2026

Shame man, like I said, you part if the drama, fashion and politics crowd. Know nothing about racing.
Verstappen (and many others) does not complain because they not competitive, They say there is no skill involved. Its all just artificial.
The drivers that called it fun did not say its great for the sport. They said its fun. Playing Mario cart is fun.
Unfortunately F1 is not a game. Its serious business, many sponsors involved. Fun artificial racing will just last a few months, then fans will go look for real racing.

Their is no skill(driver) involved going fast on a straight.
How late you could brake, how fast you can go through a corner and how fast you can exit a corner is where the skills have always been.
Now we charge batteries with braking onto the corner, charge battery in the corner. All just to get the highest speed on the straights.
Simple as that. No skills involved. I you don't understand that, you don't understand racing.
It's become artificial for a long time already, not just now, unfortunately.

Steiner: “Verstappen throws a tantrum because he's not used to not being in one of the best cars”
— Former Haas team principal Gunther Steiner shared his thoughts on Max Verstappen's recent frustrations, attributing them to his unfamiliarity with not driving a top-tier car. Speaking to media, Steiner remarked:
“Verstappen throws a tantrum because he's not used to not being behind the wheel of one of the best cars on the starting grid and this doesn't help his mood to be less critical of the new rules.”

— Steiner further elaborated on Verstappen's temperament and the current state of Red Bull Racing. He commented:
“Max is not happy because his car is not where he would like it to be and he is someone who gets angry quickly if things don't go his way.”

— Despite Verstappen's dissatisfaction, Steiner acknowledged the surprising performance of Red Bull's power units and the excitement of the races. He noted:
“We must be intellectually honest and recognize that in reality Red Bull is already surprising in terms of power units, as is Audi. The races were pretty fun and that's the most important thing.”

This is Formula 1

A lot of rumours that Andreas Seidl will be Aston Martins new team principal. Interesting if it’s more than just a rumour.

Well, if you consider the fact that the Aston Martin-Honda deal was signed in 2023 and Newey and other senior technical members only visited Honda Japan in November last year to check in on how things were going, that is a massive indictment of the leadership within the organisation.

New engine regs, new partner, first season together, and Aston Martin waited two-years to see how things are going, and what they saw was not good at all. Honda were operating with a massively reduced and inexperienced workforce relative to what they had during their time with Red Bull, and this has undoubtedly played a part in the issues with the PU.

I don't know how much blame Newey can take for this because he only joined them last year, but it is clear that Aston Martin has leadership issues.

His frustration is his car doesn’t allow him to go faster.
What happened to driving to the limit of what a shopping trolley can do?

Driving these cars to the limit of what THEY can do per the regulations and their design, is exactly what he said in the past, driving said cars to the limits of what THEY can do per their design, how is what we see currently not doing that?

What changed.....

The biggest change is that he doesn't have the fastest car designed specifically for him anymore. Now he and his dad is sulking with poor Jos saying he won't even be spectating anymore.

To be fair I'd give him a break on that one. Two DNFs and turbo issues on the start is exactly what I'd expect from effectively a brand new power unit team. I still think he's driving the wheels off the car, but yeh, it's not helping his psyche.
But that's a team car design issue, not an F1 regs issue then isn't it.

Is red bull the only car /team that is having to lift and coast into corners?
Driving the car to its limit as defined by current regulations is driving the car to its limit, whatever that is. Simple as that.

Max's complaints are contradicting his comments from the past.

I'm glad they're considering someone else. That's not a Newey role. It must have been discussed as a temporary role to start with surely.
Can't really blame him for the mess imho... this was all set in motion long before he was hired and he even had to stay out of things during his gardening leave too.

Still blows my mind AM went anywhere near Honda in the first place.

No they're not. Your comments are though highlighting your lack of understanding of his (and Charles' and Lando's and Fernando's - and most of the others) complaints.
