He definitely deserved a bigger sanction...Merc \ Hamilton must be pissed off that they finished behind Vettel after Seb's shenanigans. That's not justice.

He should have been dropped for the next 3 races.

True. If they did, there'd be a whole week long conference to explain to Ferrari why it's necessary for the good of the sport lol.

This is what I posted over at Pitpass:

There should be no place in F1 for Road Rage.

If you rear end a car on the road you are automatically at fault, to then ram the other car in a fit of road rage would probably cost you your licence.

Has the FIA forgotten its Road Safety mandate?

Any other team would have been Black Flagged and at least a one race ban but because he is in a Ferrari he gets a 10 sec penalty, an effective reprimand and he is allowed to retain his championship lead.

I used to be a Vettel fan but I have now lost all respect.

What that race emphasized yet again is that Vettel, is good... on a clear track. As the stats showed, his wins are generally from the first 3 places on the grid and never from further back. He doesn't seem very aware of others on the track and needs the faster car to race cleanly. Perhaps he just doesn't have the experience to race well wheel to wheel yet given RB's success while he was there.
 
Ironic that Hamilton was the one moaning about the safety car being too slow and then to try and get his team mate to back Vettel into him so he can overtake. I wonder if the title fight will see a Ros-Ham Spain 2016 incident again this year.

Agree, the fact that all these are moaning about Seb, but saying nothing about Lewis once again asking his team for a favor says a lot.

No, but why did Lewis need Bottas to back Seb into him? Couldn't get past him? Also, was it not Lewis that braked when entering the pits earlier on? People seem to look past Hamiltons actions, and treat him as if he does nothing wrong.
 
We have the FIA going up between their golden boy and their golden team(Ferrari). Expect more drama and more controversies throughout the season. I think both Hamilton should have been penalised too for the incident prior to Vettel's road rage but the race is done and the penalties have been handed down.

That sort of road rage has no place in F1. There was literally no logical reason for doing it, and without the penalty Seb would've easily taken first in this race.

Ferrari need to have a serious chat with their petulant golden boy. As much as I'm rooting for Ferrari to take the driver and contructor championships this year it pains me to see Seb in the red overalls.

This incident aside what an awesome race, plenty of action to keep things exciting. Bottas taking Stroll basically on the finish line was nail-biting (and heart breaking I'm sure).
 
I hope Ferrari are looking at letting go of Vettel at the end of the season. Le Clerc or Ricciardo would be the ideal replacements.

And the logs that the stewards see include speed charts.
The figures show that he did not decelerate and did nothing different in that corner than he did in the previous safety car period.
Vettel was too busy watching the car behind and lost his concentration, Hamilton did nothing.

notwithstanding, it has now sparked some fuses for the next few races to come

because if in Austria,etc those two are gunning next to each other for the next corner will bring some exciting stuff

whats missing was Lewis running over to the Ferrari garage and giving Seb a klap on the helmet
