Facebook executives liable for harmful content

Social media executives from Facebook, Google and Instagram could be held personally liable for harmful content distributed on their platforms, according to a person familiar with U.K. government plans.

U.K. ministers are frustrated at the slow speed of self-regulation by internet giants amid the dissemination of images relating to terrorism, self-harm, suicide and child abuse.

Here's a novel thought, instead if this k@k why not hold the originator responsible? After all it them who posted the sheite not the executives. This is just retarded socialist thinking, and we've seen where that leads to..

Amazes me when people get their panties in a knot whenever FB does something drastic. Remember, it's a free service provided by a private company. They can do what they want with it, and don't have to be accountable as long as it's not illegal. Don't agree with it, stop using it. There are still millions of sheep posting pics of their babies and holidays every day to keep FB laughing all the way to the bank.

I agree with getting rid of those particular things, however, as we have seen in the past they tend to be scapegoats to give them the power to censor as they please.
