How is having a smaller audience (userbase?) a good thing?

It's possible for smaller services to fly under the radar of law enforcement, but unlikely since law enforcement has reach far greater than anyone on this forum knows. My argument is that the audience size does not matter, both Whatsapp and Telegram are services that law enforcement target.

yup.

I have said it before.

in fact I said it first in 2014 when facebook bought whatsapp.
they will steal more and more data. and your privacy will become less and less.
the turning point is long over.

its too late, this is just the first part. I am telling you. spam adds from companies are coming to whatsapp. it will be the top contact in your chat and you will not be able to block it or unsubscribe. I promise you now that is the goal for them.

As you have said before? LOL. It was as inevitable as to say in 5 minutes it will be 13h00. Hardly prophetic. :crylaugh:

And what are they going to "steal" besides your name and number?

big freaking whoop dude. I dont care about your opinion either.

but let me just say this again.

I dont care what messaging platform people move to, as long as it is away from whatsapp.

Good for you, no one cares.

It's my argument as well, that it doesn't matter.

The top spot in your contacts list, apparently.

WHY ARE YOU SO PARANOID.

If anyone has your phone number + uses whatsapp then facebook has that data anyway.

Maybe Baxteen is earning commission on the number of people he converts to Telegram?

LOL. Telegram will have to be sold or monetize somehow eventually. Nobody wants to throwaway millions of dollars a month with no return.

I wouldn't be surprised if Telegram is already selling it's users' data.

I am not paranoid.

but it is a breach of privacy. there is no arguing that, the German court agreed and forced whatsapp to delete the data and make the opt in matter.

I do not stand for injustice. I have called my friends and Family members STupid for still using whatsapp despite understanding what happened. to their faces. even my mother. told her to her face that having whatsapp on her phone after reading those terms and conditions means she is stupid.

and I honestly think everyone here who says they are not bothered by these ads are straight up lying to win an internet argument.
its very clear where this move is going.
but you are all sitting here, doing nothing to stop it, where all it takes is to simply get a few people to use a new messaging app. (I dont care what app you choose to work with)

yet I am betting 99% of you here have adblock on the browser, and hate getting telemarketing calls. and you all ignore the telemarketing smses. but you are fine wiht opening yourself up to yet another way to get served ads you dont want.

I swear you people all still rely on DSTV and think Dave had 100% valid points in not pirating anymore.

whatsapp users, apple users and christians.
logical arguments with clear evicdence does nothing your loyalties have you so blind you will do anything for the brand you believe in.

I'm done with this thread.
it doesnt matter if telegram is less secure then whatsapp, whatsapp is still straight up a worse app then any of the alternatives.

I never knew one person could be so passionate about advertising.

I suppose it takes all types.

You are foaming at the mouth about WhatsApp pushing ads on its users which is not even close to happening anytime soon.

That last sentence of yours just proves that you have some kind of a vendetta :'D

You're happy to use a app that is untrusted and less secture, but hurrr duurr whatsapp ads are going to be pushed to your phone and its the end of the world.
