When updating software on my MBP via System Preferences I've been getting an error message that the download file is corrupted and can't install. It happened twice with the latest iTunes update and again yesterday with OS 10.6.6 update. Don't want to keep churning away at my cap and not be able to use the downloaded files.

Anybody else had this issue too? Any suggestions to fix it?

I've had this issue before with both a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air. I find that it usually happens when installing many updates – especially if more than one of them requires a restart. I don't know how to avoid the issue, but here's what I do:

1) First, install all updates that do not require a restart. When it is done, restart anyway.
2) Next, install the iTunes update, then restart.
3) Finally, install the OS X update.

Not sure why it happens, but it does seem to help to do the install in smaller batches.
