OpenServe came and installed fibre at our new premises. They mentioned they are not seeing any lights on the ONT and that they have escaled it to their Cables department.

How long does this usually take?

We are moving because of no internet connectivity and my wife and I both work from Home.

Usually pretty quick, who is your ISP?

Hi PBCool

  • 1) Manual Update Details : Installation could not be completed on 24 Feb ,Order has been tasked to cables due to no light signal on the fibre
  • 2) Manual Update Type : 1

Should not be long.

If the contractor completed the installation then cables will come and fix the no optic issue and the line should start working after that.

If we are your ISP I can try to get some timelines for you?

Edit: I found the order. Having a look for you.

Hi AfriNatic

Thank you for the response and the information. I am with Afrihost yes. I am working from home and we are moving to the new premises because of internet issues in our current area.

It is super duper important to get the internet working. I have gotten warnings for missing meetings and dropping off calls because of bad LTE service for a month. We do a lot of screensharing HD video calls. I sometimes do 3 calls a day and it really chows through

I understand how important internet is as I myself work from home. I'm trying to see if we can get an ETA on the cable for a repair and once I do I have feedback I will revert back.

Cable tech is scheduled to attend on the 1st of March.

I know in our complex there are two dark Openserve wires due the lack of capacity feeding to the street junction box.

This Openserve is turning out to be a bit disappointing. Order placed with Afrihost and it's day 4 without any action from Openserve.
