I prefer "thorough" over "fast", any day of the week and twice on a Sunday. Hang on, that didn't sound quite right!

I have used Norton internet security 2011 and i must admit it is the best internet security package i have used in terms of speed. It is very light on resources so +1 to norton (Never thought i would ever say that lol).

Wish they would just stop building virus's, malware etc. Then again, who is checking up on Micro$oft.

My guess is that this is the only study - or one of very few - that scores Norton at the top. From past experience I will not use Norton. I find MSE to be very good ... and it is free. After MSE I'll go for Kaspersky.

Yeah, I had endless troubles with Norton. Was extremely slow and caused many problems to the computer.
MSE is great for me, pretty low on resources and very effective (for a free product).

NOD32
Kaspersky
Microsoft Security Essentials.

I wouldn't consider anything else at this stage in history.

Did anyone else notice that the scripts were supplied by symantec....

same company that makes norton....

i smell a fake/rigged test.

PassMark stated that Symantec funded the production of the report and supplied some of the test scripts.

By chance Norton gained top scores...

@RPM: State up front when you publish advertorials. This website, and your credibility, is worth a hell of a lot more than you might think.

Norton is only fast because it uses all of your ram!

That is strange. Norton 360 Version 5 is only using 20 megs of RAM at the moment and yet my computer is running fast and beautifully.

Norton products were rubbish a few years ago but the 2010 and 2011 products have been superb.
