Fat Acceptance Movement

4:45 onwards... welcome to new logic...."health-ism"...moral obligation for people to be healthy :wtf:

Skip to around 5 minutes and watch the look on that guys face as she answers his question.

It's not horror - its something deeper than that.

EDIT: You know what, watching that actually sickens me. I can't watch it.

And not because she is fat, but because of how she defends it and claims that wanting to be healthy is... what... judgmental? Health-ism?

It actually does hey. It affects medical aid rates because everyone falls into the same risk pool. It affects life insurance rates.

Then by the same token, people shouldn't be allowed to engage in high risk activities. I mean, after all, my medical aid covers me for motorsport and skydiving...
:D

Oh trust me, you got that shaming across, even if in a subtle and camouflaged way.

/hugs without touching bodies

I'm only joking, Ockie :p

PS. did you get tested yesterday?

It's so sad to see how easy it is to generalise. I am fat too. My problem? I don't like food. I've never enjoyed food. So I'll basically starve myself till I have a headache and then grab something to eat. My doctor told me to start eating 5/6 small meals a day. I tried it for a few weeks, and I started losing weight. When I go out with my friends, they generally bring the larger portions to me - assuming I'm the big eater. When I wouldn't be able to eat half that food. So yes, I can make changes. Yes, I've tried every diet on the market. No, I haven't had much success. And yes, I gym 4 times a week for an hour. So please stop judging and think that it is light work to lose the weight.

When you do eat are you eating whole (freshly prepared) foods or stuff out of boxes and packets?

Usually by then I have whatever is around. Eating fruit sounds like a good idea, except I have a fruit allergy and I'm allergic to most fruits. So yes, I try to make lunches, but don't always do it. I'm not saying I'm not at fault. Just saying it's not that easy. I lose 5kgs and then get lazy to eat and go back to not eating and put 2/3 back on.

I think us fatties are less easily offended than the noodle-shaped clan would like themselves to believe. One sensitive **** doesn't speak for all people of one type.

Well tell me, where's the outrage from the fat community? Don't tell me it's just a few radicals who say stuff like this?

I was there in New Jersey when Megan Trainor released All About That Bass and there were thousands of fatties cheering.

She's singing about curves, not muffin tops.

Yes, different people lose/gain weight at different rates, but it doesn't mean that it's impossible. There are very, very few obese people who have a genuine medical condition. The rest just don't have the patience, will power and the discipline to make the necessary changes.
