Fat Acceptance Movement

Found the original source and a rebuttal from the friend

WTF did I just read? I admit I'm not a fan of bariatric surgery personally but why judge someone who went to such lengths? It's freaking surgery for heavens sake and a life threatening one at that with quite sever complications of something goes wrong.

I was so hungry last night I ate 4 tins of alphabet spaghetti. This morning I had a massive vowel movement.

Side note, wife was looking for strange shaped pasta for the kids ( bears etc ), R40 a bag?!!?! For pasta!

Not everyone is anti-fat, twice in recent years I've come across guys on online dating sites that enquired about my weight 'cos I list that I'm a big guy (just under 2m & not skinny) & both times they weren't interested because I didn't make the required bodyweight.

One of them was recently single 'cos his boyfriend elected to have gastric bypass and he would rather break up than not be with a fat guy..

People should do whatever the **** they want, let the 'everything offends me' crowd be offended if it suits them.

I don't even think that most people are anti-fat. What most people are against, is this movement trying to pass off obesity and being overweight, as acceptable.

Because her friend was a supporter of the fat acceptance movement but had then betrayed the cause by opting for weight loss surgery, or something along those lines. Also, how could her friend be so inconsiderate and insensitive? Oh yes, it's all about her.

It is acceptable, to be honest, as it's a personal choice that really doesn't affect anyone else. What is NOT on is any form of attempt to pass it off as healthy, or to direct abuse/hate at people who AREN'T fat

4:45 onwards... welcome to new logic...."health-ism"...moral obligation for people to be healthy :wtf:

It actually does hey. It affects medical aid rates because everyone falls into the same risk pool. It affects life insurance rates. It will directly affect you if they should seat an overweight person next to you, be it on a plane or at at a cinema. It even affects people right into death - I've read articles of furnaces burning out because of the person that was being cremated being so overweight that their fat set the oven alight. Not to mention that these people would need coffins the size of a cupboard.

I think us fatties are less easily offended than the noodle-shaped clan would like themselves to believe. One sensitive **** doesn't speak for all people of one type.

I used to be thin, and didn't see anything wrong with fat people, probably coz my dad was always huge. Now I don't see the fuss either. Didn't even know it was a "thing" to hate on fat people, but if that's what makes you happy, have at it.

I think that I was just healthshamed :wtf:
I feel like hitting the streets tonight and xxxxxx-shaming random people.
Oh hey you wanna shame some people at Somerset Mall?
