I have used a friend for my company domain and email hosting. He uses domains.co.za and I am tires of their nonsense like being on spam lists etc.

Anyone used Afrihost? I have DSL and mobile with them so naturally thought about moving my domain and email to them.

Got 7 domains (shared hosting) with them and have not had any issues thus far. Happy with the service.

Had nothing but problems on their shared hosting.
Servers would be inaccessible several times a day which resulted in loss of email (as it could not be delivered)

Axxess has some good specials otherwisr for a professional company with a working network and excellent support I suggest you look at Hetzner.

@FlashSA, sorry to hear you are on spam lists, please can you PM me your domain so that we can investigate.

I'm not on spam lists, your servers have been on "do not accept" with telkomsa.net several times. When this happens, I cannot email any of my customers who have their email hosted with @telkomsa.net

Then, yesterday, your "support" employee Lee Isaacson rudely cc'ed me in on an email telling my provider that he/she refuses to assist me directly: domains.PNG

Here is the same "support" person admitting your servers were blacklisted by Telkomsa: Blocked.PNG

Something is clearly flawed on your network if some of your user's are causing your servers to be blacklisted by Telkomsa.....

Hi FlashSA,

As part of our reseller agreements, we try not to engage with any of our reseller customers directly.
This is standard business practice in the Reseller Hosting model where the provider only engages with the reseller.
99% of our resellers would be extremely upset if we spoke directly to their customers.

All email on our network gets filtered through our SpamExperts cluster. Every now and then a spam email from an exploited wordpress site or compromised email account manages to slip through, or a customer of ours is targetted by Vindictive spam reporting (subscribe to a competitors services, receive an email from them and then submit it to blacklists).

When this happens, some of the IP's on the cluster get blacklisted.
Once we are notified of a blacklisting through the blacklisting monitoring services, we rotate the affected IP's addresses out of the cluster.
You can look up our IP ranges on http://www.senderbase.org/ and will see that our ranges do in fact have a good reputation.

Spam is unfortnately a problem which affects all providers world wide and there is no 100% perfect, full-proof solution. SpamExperts is one of the best and also used by WebAfrica, Afrihost, Elitehost and Hetzner, along with most of the hosting providers in the world.

I did a post regarding spam from an ISP perspective some time back which might give you some insight into this. (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...lacklisted?p=16417961&highlight=#post16417961)

well it "works" isnt great. you need to implement a ton of the security your side etc. their spam stuff is so crap tho.

we have times of issues issues with it and really want to move away but cost is an issue.
