FHD LCD TV'S

JVC PD 43n30

Cannot find anything on google regarding this model, so either is very new on the market or just unheard of :D.

Yea under hdmi it looks kinda like a tv with bad signal, not sure how to explain i will bring my camera home tomorrow and take some pics. The issue with the text i think is because the pixels are rather large but if i increase my font size to 150 it clears everything up but it's not ideal. Also it seems to prefer 1280 over 1920 with hdmi which i thought was odd, perhaps my hdmi cable is rubbish although it cost me 300 about two years ago.

I can't my find my digital flat screen will check now again though.

Not sure how to lower the sharpness, that could actually be the issue. The picture is badly degraded on the hdmi port , vga runs nicely. Also hdmi is limited to 60hz where as vga is 120hz hmmm

And this is definitely a full HD plasma? 1920x1080 physical pixels? :D

If it prefers 1280, then it could be like most other 42" plasmas. 1024x768 with rectangular pixels for 16:9.

Could be marketed as full HD because it accepts a 1080p signal and downscales to 720p?

Unless of course there is another setting you need.

Are the menus decent? You can list what you have under picture options if you like (or wait for cam).

The pixels do look rather big i must say. If i sit close i can see them very clearly but that is up close. I was reading up on the pc mode and i don't have the tools to change it on my control.

Under hdmi it was recommend 1280 but with vga it recommends 1920. I have read that after people change their port to pc it's clear so that must be the issue. I think i will phone jvc tomorrow perhaps. It says full HD 1080 so i would assume, the picture looks darn good on a blu ray and on the vga but no good on hdmi. The issue as far as i can tell is 1920 is very high and pixels are too big to pick up the smaller text nicely, perhaps is 1024 that upscales? Without a doubt though the picture quality on hdmi vs vga is massive. Even the movies look kuk :p on the vga they look unreal. What is the advange of hdmi over vga?

I doubt it upscales though as the picture doesn't fit in 1280. Ok dumb question but could my cable only be 720p capable. I bought it over two years ago /blush

I have an hd add thing in CCC but it says i can damage the screen if i select something that is incorrect. Perhaps i just need to add 1080 or something but i are liking to be worried :p

Check out page 15

Something a bit odd hey, i connected my 23" to hdmi a while back i had the same issues so i switched back to dvi. Hmmm perhaps i better get a new cable or something just in case because my 23" i know is full hd but it looks just like what i am experiencing now. Blurry and crap haha.

Would it make a difference if i use those small port on my vga card with a hdmi cable, should i get a dvi to hdmi convertor?

For XBox gaming and movies I use the Acer 5360 720p projector displaying at 120". For PC gaming I use a 22" FHD Sammy.
Projector was R6k and is freaking awesome for gaming. In the bedroom and lounge I have 32" and 42" and while good, they just don't compare with the projector.

Just something to ponder :)

I have a projector but it's a mission trying to keep my place dark :D. Need block out. 720p it is as well.

I am going to buy a new hdmi cable just to make sure that is not my issue because it seems bizarre that vga looks great but hdmi looks crap haha. Perhaps it is my vga drivers or something,i will also phone jvc and see what they think, well if they have a south african branch.

HDMI looks crap because the TV/your gfx (probably TV) is over scanning, as a starter. TV must not be doing the processing, it must just display what the graphcis card sends. Don't understand how you would have different options in CCC. They must be there somewhere.

That is my exact issue, overscan is at 0%.

His setup is not exactly like mine but pretty close. Post you know the ati has those small eye finity ports, i am using a small port adapter to large port then into tv hdmi 1. Perhaps i need a cable that goes directly from the small port on my card into the big port haha.

I had same kind of problem with LE32B535. With DVI-HDMI -> HDMI connection the picture was bad at 1080p and 720p resolutions.

What fixed it for me was going to the source- menu and from there going to tools and further on to Edit Name. Over there I changed the "name" of the HDMI connection I was using to DVI PC.

Not sure if it does anything with straight HDMI-HDMI connection, but I hope it helps someone.

I just bought a new Samsung P2370HD.
My PC has 2 DVI so I used one of them to connect to the monitor using a DVI-DVI cable. Perfect cristal!

Meanwhile I also have a laptop with an HDMI connection and when I use an HDMI-HDMI cable to connect to the monitor the image is horrible!

I don´t understand why, but I did what you said Editing the name to DVI PC and the image quality is much better! Not perfect yet. Stangely I get some black borders all around the screen, so the image is a little compressed because I'm sending 1920x1080 from the laptop, so I should have full screen.

I still made another test to try if was something wrong with the signal sent by the HDMI laptop...
Using the same HDMI-HDMI cable than before I put a smal HDMI-DVI converter in one side and connected this to the DVI input of the monitor. Again... perfect cristal!

Conclusion: there is something wrong with the way the monitor receives the HDMI signal. I will try to talk with Samsung Support.

.

Yea i cannot change the name, i got no option for it sadly but i just notice it's actually 1080i which is interlaced, hmmm this is super confusing but i am sure there must be an easy fix.

Gonna have to go as deep in the menu as possible.
