Fiber - Springs

Hello

I have spoken today again to Vuma personnel.
He explained the 14 manholes need to be done on the "bokke" side. It seems they completed the fiber structure to the houses. Now the connection to the houses need to be done, splicing of manholes fiber.
Main internet fiber to the junction boxes are still missing.
Don't know when this will be completed.

Going to PM you the number of the project manager for our area, very helpful and knowing as to what’s happening

Just when we think they'd be done there's a problem
Which part of Springs.
My concern is that "Bokke" side is missing main fiber connection. (Internet side of things)

I have seen the racks they installed and mounted for 350 houses on "Bokke" side. They were all spliced.
No Feeder cable to feed those racks, meaning internet side of things.

Ok my point of view.
Casseldale and Strubenvale will go live next. Might be close to the end of this month. My gut feel.

Then they have to look were capacity will come from to go live for Edelweiss. You don't want to install something that needs replacing on a later stage. Needs to be permanent as we call "first time right".
This might come end of October.
Crossing of the N17 is still a major problem. My 2cents worth.

As I said a ring network needs to be completed. How far are they to go to bed with Telkom is just another question.
Don't know how good are the relation currently.

i hope your gut feel is correct. not seeing alot of work ers in Cassedale area so looks to be done and testing. Still showing as Work in Progress on most ISP sites - but sure it will be going live soon - fingers crossed.

Vuma will release once every thing is tested. Don't know if Casseldale will go first before Strubenvale.

See them splicing at manholes.{Bokke side)
What I have seen 3 done and two are busy with.(14 need to be done)

I'm in Selcourt. Vodacom installed the fibre last week. Cool ideas sent me the router this week and they get a massive DDoS attack. Paying for 10/5Mbps. Getting 1/5Mbps. Will post updates here.

Good day

Think manholes were completed yesterday here on "Bokke" side. No vehicles in site.

Saw there pink little vehicle in Casseldale, what they do don't know. Vuma all over the vehicle.
Perhaps they do the testing there? or promotion

I know they are busy with installation, my cpe getting installed on Monday, i also have a gut feeling it will be going live closer to month end, even received my router today so let's all hope it wil be going live soon

It is Saturday.

Vuma is splicing at the main cabinet box. ("Blomme" side)
Saw them when I left and returned. One step closer.

Inside this main cabinet, are two compartments.
One side has racks that interconnects to manholes. These racks feeds the fiber network via the manholes.
Then these manholes feed the individual houses.

Then on the other side that is were the main feeder fiber lines come in. This then feeds the then racks on the opposite side.

Vuma has to finish before we can go live.
