Hi all

Just got a phone call from Vodacom about fiber here in Edelweiss.
According only to Vodacom this area is live to Vodacom.
Told here to take a kite and fly it.

i wonder if its not the same as in selcourt? initially it was vuma, but somehow it became a vodacom only network.

To be honest, im willing to roll the dice with Vodacom as my ISP , as frustrating as it is dealing with them, so far they have been the only ones driving this initiative in springs, the other ISP's only came to the party this week as the network went live

any address in selcourt shows this on axxess, vox, etc .. however my brother in selcourt and my parents have both got fiber already

When I look at Vuma web site, fiber ISP I can see all of them.
When I Pre-Ordered I selected Supersonic as my ISP.

Is Selcourt not Openserve, meaning Telkom. Don't know which ISP you can select from them.

Not sure who, but from my parents and my brother, the only isp servicing that area is vodacom

Discovered it's Vuma. Lucky cause at least there's choice beyond vodacrap.

Hi everyone

I noticed that the stranded fiber at a crossing has been done. Two sets of cables. They dug up the road to get to the manhole.
N17 if that was done while I was away, tried to get answers nobody picked up phone.

So far my fiber has not been spliced with fly lead. Still outstanding.

Vuma was working Saturday on there main junction here in Butler road. One step closer.
Think this is the main fiber line junction box.

Spoke to Vuma Pink Jackets at there Main Junction boxes here in Butler road.
Busy splicing Fiber here for Edelweiss Blomme and Bokke side.
From what I understand there will be ring network once completed.
From what I also understand Edelweiss will get main fiber from Casseldale for the interim. Was supposed to come from Selection Park along side of the Mall via crossing the N17.
They will also be using Telkom infrastructure to complete installation.

From what I could gather Casseldale is completed busy testing network, should not be long anymore.

They have given them a three week time frame to complete Edeleweiss. Lots of testing need to be done.

From what I heard there is main fiber line broken during testing in Casseldale.
Need to be spliced again.
According to the agent for Fast Fiber Shop, he was in that area.

Ok spoke to Vuma personel.

Saw people at manholes busy splicing fiber.
Fourteen manholes need to be done here on the "bokke" side.
