ok thanks, i see the coverage
from my research, CISP seems to be the provider of choice, though im not sure if they will do the line only...
please keep us posted on the time frames from order to installation..

Cool ideas are not bad actually. My idea was to get the line through Afrihost and use my Vox data. It'll still work out cheaper than CISP

I want to do the same thing. I spoke to Vox about this, and they said they don't sell fiber and data seperately. But if you just go on to their website and order fatpipe data, it should work

It's been mentioned around the forum a few times. It is allowed on Openserve fibre only. Any other provider wont work

In theory one can use any ADSL data only package from any provider on Openserve then, not just VOX fatpipe?

We are about to move from Randburg to Eldoraigne. Does anyone know which extention that is? I was told by our rental agent that fibre is live in the area. Now checking on serveral sites only Level 7 seems to show availability.

What's the street name that you are moving to in eldoraigne?

We are about to move from Randburg to Eldoraigne in Centurion. Stranger Ave to be exact. Does anyone know which exptention that is? I checked on level 7's site which showed 3 options for fibre and according to their map it is available. Also the rental agent told us (after confirming with the Complex BC) that firbre was live. Now I'm not so sure.

Street is 14 Stanger Avenue.
Is there ANY other suppliers than Openserve? The packages they offer (quoted by Cool Ideas, Level 7 and Vox) are extremely expensive. Up to R1000 for 20/10 Mbps where we now pay R900 for 50/50 with a Voip phone. I have also been told they shape & trottle services during peak hours, even on unshaped packages. Really don't want anything to do with Telkom.

Cool Ideas does not shape or throttle.... Yeah unfortunately Open Serve is more expensive than others, but I have had 20/10 for 2 years and can't complain (Line via ISPAfrika and capped account via Afrihost). Waiting for Metrofibre to allow other ISP signups, and then I will probably move. But also seems MetroFibre are having their own issues nowadays :/
