Fibre in Jhb South

Also had vumatel in Alberante last weekend. Will see what happens.

Had fibre since December in Oakdene. On SADV via DFA...
 
In Glenvista we have a vumtel grey box installed on the boundary but waiting for it to go live. Is it worthwhile getting the install to the house before Vumatel go live?
 
The Vumatel guys did come pass about a month ago asking for interest but still haven't seen anything further. Which side of Mondeor you in?

Meyersdal is at 50%490 for Vumatel. 490 sign ups needed!
 
I contacted Vumatel who said they don't have a date for Mondeor but reached the required interest mark.

Below is what was received.

"Good day Mohamed

Thank you for showing your interest in the fibre to the home project in Mondeor.

The suburb has qualified and reached the required 30% required interest mark. We are currently working on the plans for the suburb and waiting for the capacity to roll out. We currently do not have a concrete start date, however communication will be sent to the suburb as soon as do have one."
 
Hi guys. So fiber has been laid in the south since December 2017 but when you check availability on the ISP website is shows as no fiber in our area. Does anyone know what is going on.

The "south" is pretty broad... Where do you mean? Vereeniging?

Yeah, where in the south?

The ''old'' south has no coverage while the ''new'' south and eastern suburbs like Meyersdal, Randhart, Alberton and New Redruth either have full coverage or it is in progress.

The boundary seems to be the N12. North of the N12 = nothing.

Not true. The new complexes in Oakdene have coverage through SADV or Bronberg...

SADV seems patchy north of the N12.
