Update:

Outage Update| NLD | Port Shepstone <> Amanzimtoti via ADVA | Down|Progressive update will follow . The team is still working on this fault.

Sure, until Friday comes around.

How many times has this NLD been down so far?

Time for reality, look at the FF in PE thread. We'll be catching up to them soon. Rubbish groundwork with cables 20cm from surface. Seemingly shoddy repair work where time matters more than quality of work.

Not happy with FF at all.

I did take a dig at them on Twitter yesterday that it is down far to often causing hours of degraded performance.

Definately looking at Openserve for the future and will make the move if need be.

Yeah man, I need stability. In the 2 something years I was on Telkom LTE I was down 3 times. And one of them was because some idiot drove into the power box at the tower.

With FF its a weekly thing now. Recently Fridays, the major evening where you can get in a good gaming session and chat with mates. I had to quit BDO. Missed too many group activities.

Anyone's latency spiking at the moment? Latency spikes to like 54 then goes back down, twitch buffers for a few seconds and then normal again.

Happened about 4 times now.

@DJ29 From the KZN Fibre Mid South Coast thread had some issues right about your time. Posted later was resolved. Hopefully yours is back now.

Thanks, did not see any spikes after about 10 minutes after this post.

You should see all the fibre breaks all over Tweni. Municipality has been clearing the ditches which is where the FF installers have put their cables Old St faiths, Mkhuhlwa Crescent, Sylvan Avenue - I guess if nobody is connected on these nobody will report? @AfriNatic

The municipality does inform FF of breaks if they do any trenching.

Well FF techs themselves told me I'm apparently the only one in my road who took up fibre. One FF tech said he also lives here in Tweni and the uptake was not good.

So if UGU's weed trimmers are cutting off some breakout points my guess is most won't even know it.

Btw the contractor who pulled my cable from the breakout on the pavement into my property pulled it through a ****ing seeping hole in my wall. I never even realized it until May sometime when we were cleaning up after the floods. Its not even in conduit they only started using conduit from inside my property. I had to close it up.
