For the last 2 weeks I am on a 50Mbps 200GB capped account with Afrihost.
Every evening between 7 and 10 pm my download speeds slows down by about 80%, even though their website says capped accounts are:
As a Capped client you are unshaped no matter what services you use - regardless of the time of day and your usage total. This means that we will not slow down your connection speed (by shaping or throttling) no matter what you download or connect to. (Actual speed is dependent on line speed and current capacity of your Fibre line).
Anybody else having the same problem?
Maybe Afrihost has IPC capacity problems in the Cape Town region?
