FIFA 2010 Phase 1 Tickets Application

Yeah - by the end of this phase only about 900k will have been allocated.

At the final phase now and loving having to press the submit again continuously cause of high traffic.;)

Just put mine through, hopefully I will get tickets for another 4 games, got for 2 in the first round.

For some reason I couldn't get through on the 1 pc. So I left that page on and tried on my second pc and got through straight away. So finally my application is in. Applied for the 1 group game and round of 16 game I missed out for the first phase.

Anybody how long it will take for them to let us know with this phase??

site is working perfectly for me now, managed to apply without any hickups

I've still not heard back regarding my 1st phase payment problem.

I heard back about my 1st phase tickets. I applied for Opening Game, a Quater-Final and the Final. I was successful in the opening game and final draws. Yay??? Ummm, nope.

FIFA wants R2600 for TWO opening ceremony/ game tickets. Fair enough. They then told me I must pay R12 000 for TWO Final tickets...coming to a lovely total of R14 600 for 4 tickets. The site doesn't allow you to pay just for one set, you have to take them all or nothing.

So much for an affordable African World Cup. I can afford to buy them but at R6000 just for entry to a game (I know it's a once in a lifetime opportunity) I'm sorry, my 46" HD with replays and commentary and cheap booze and loo breaks takes preference.

They did tell you the prices before you applied. Not their fault you applied for things you can't/won't pay for.

Every football fan in the world wants a wc ticket hence the prices will be high.

Actually not. I applied very early. Prices weren't mentioned for the WC application, just tiers and you had to select which tier you wanted. It was for the Confed cup (and later in the WC application) that the prices were included upfront with your application.

It was said that prices for LOCAL applicants would be REASONABLE, if I'm paying 6k, me shudders to think what a foreigner will be paying if thats reasonable. (I've paid for the tickets just BTW)

Pretty sure the prices were listed on the website from the the day ticketing for the wc opened. I remember that since I checked the pricing table before I applied for mine. Might not have been on the same page as the ticketing process but they were on the site.

Those who had to pay via bank transfer... what does it say in the status section of your application?

Prices for local applicants ARE reasonable. Category 4 tickets were reserved for South African residents only and are a lot cheaper than Category 1, 2 and 3. From your prices you clearly didn't get Category 4, which means you are paying the same price as non-SA residents. Also I'm pretty sure that ticket prices for the different categories have been available since before the beginning of Phase 1.

If I were you, I would be super-psyched about getting Final tickets - I applied for 7 matches and had 1 successful application.
