Fifa World Cup 2026

Starmer has a good point there. FIFA are just profiting off of people who aren't genuine lovers of the game. It is why the took the world cup to the likes of Qatar. Real fans are being left out in pursuit of the mighty dollar.
The assumption that people with money aren't real fans is retarded.

I agree the pricing seems ridiculous for me, but if it sells out it wasn't. That is just how it works. If it is too high you will likely see more special deals. And if it was really too high you will see a half empty stadium.

"A cynical, tokenistic PR crisis response and nothing more. Equates to approx 350 tickets per game, so vast majority are still priced out."
It’s something tiny like 1% of the tickets are now at this very "affordable" rate and also their distribution is handled by the playing countries football associations so you can imagine all the cronyism and black market ticket sales that will be happening.

The price gouging is really eye opening, Fifa certainly isn't an organisation catering to the people of football anymore, it’s just a greedy profit maximisation wealth extraction machine like all other big businesses these days.

World cup increasing from 32 to 48 team really has made some pointless matches.
+16 extra teams and +40 extra matches for a total of 104 matches compared to the previous world cup. In my view that really makes zero sense and waters down the whole tournament. People will seriously get fatigued watching 104 matches over 39 days. The extra matches mean so many records for goals scored and golden boot record goals will happen.

Africa gets 9 slots. 4 extra slots over the previous world cup. At least it means South African qualifies for the first time since 2002. (2010 they hosted meaning they did not have to qualify)

I have never heard of the countries of Curucao or Cabo verde before. You could easily get 10-0 scoresheets when they play tier 1 nations.
I have no issue with it.
World cup has two parts:
1. The festival of football celebrating the nations whose world cup is just getting there.
2.the competitive part of those trying to win the world cup

I enjoy both parts.

I see Italy didn't qualify, 3rd time in a row what a shocker!

They do? Is this a special concession for the world cup?

Edit: unless perhaps there is a mix up with visa free and free visa, as there's no charge for a tourist visa if you're South African.
I think if you have a UK visa or USA and Europe visa in your passport you don't need to get a Mexican visa. But if you don't then you need to apply for a Mexican visa
