Finally Decided

I would:
Scarp the 1066 and rather go for 4gb 800, especially if you are going vista.
Scrap the crossfire idea.
Get a bigger HDD.
Ensure that the case has a sidefan.
Consider getting a UPS too.

btw the PATA support is crap on the p5k boards...but you should be OK with the SATA hdd.

My whole plan about this pc is so that i wont need to upgrade for at least a little while i thought the crossfire would be nice if i need to get more graphics and i dont need a bigger HDD i already have other HDD's

OK let me ask this CrossFire or DDR3 + DDR2 Compatible ?

Neither are really important it seems. Unless you plan on getting a 22" and another GPU.

DDR2 will still be around for a while, and the increase in speed of DDR3 is nothing much to get excited about.

Can I make it easy for you? You seem to have to many choices and thoughts flowing at once.

Sell that 19" monitor and get yourself a 22". It is totally worth it.
Get some fast DDR2 ram (2x1GB or 2x2GB, XP will use around 3GB of it only). Forget about DDR3.
Q6600 is good for the price.
Get a decent PSU. Repeat - get a decent PSU!!!
Go buy yourself some gamepads with the money you save - Logitech Dual Shock or Xbox controller and really enjoy the game titles.

I do a lot of backing up of videos and photos ... so I got myself 2 DVD writers.... neglible cost - but very functional.

My opinion about crossfire/sli : To me it is not worth it. For me it is all about enjoying the game. A single 8800GT gives you a great experience and now there are better cards than this.

Dont forget about the noise factor and cooling.

PS. I do not overclock my system. If I want a beefier system, I just go and get better hardware. I personally would go for the best bang for your buck setup.

Following sdd's advice, this is what you should get then... I think...

-a decent Mobo, non crossfire and DDR2 only. Something with a P45 chipset maybe.
-Q6600 Quad Core Processor +- R1600
-2 x 2 Gig DDR2 800 Ram
-ATI HD4870 Graphics Card +- R3500 My choice
-Seagate 500 Gig Sata HDD +- R800
-550w/600w antec/CM/TT PSU AND Case
sell the 19" and get a 22" (it is worth it)
