I totally disagree. There could be many other ways to deal with this. It's not fair to ruin someone's life for something as stupid as this. You seem to be personally insulted by her post as well :wtf:
It's starting to look like black folk are just waiting for someone to make this mistake and then bask in the glory of the consequences this person faces.
Lets look at it from another angle.Yet you think it was appropriate for her to get fired over a word on social media?
Lets look at it from another angle.
If you were a black person who had to work with her, taking into account what she said and the fact that she used one of the biggest megaphones to do it. How would you feel, working with someone who uses an ethnic slur to refer to black people? A term that's associated with Apartheid era violence, amongst other things.
Calling someone a racially offensive term whether you're in your private capacity or at work doesn't change the fact that it is your point of view toward same race. Its not the same as shouting "jou ma se po3s" to the same taxi driver
What would you have wanted the company to do? You do not seem to comprehend that a company's image is created and sustained by the people it employs (well, mostly). What would you think would happen if Ericsson lost a a billion dollar contract to Huawei because the issuer of the contract felt the Ericsson seems to support racism?
edit: disclaimer, I'm not black
She uttered the dreaded word in a fit of rage, I'm pretty sure that's not how she normally addresses people or how her conversation flows. And bringing back apartheid...oh please stop with that schit already. It will never pass because they so love clinging to it. I am certain that there are other ways of dealing with this kind of thing than to ruin someone's life.
Dis vrydag, ou skotie en ek wil nie argumenteer nie. Just playing devil's advocate. :twisted:She uttered the dreaded word in a fit of rage, I'm pretty sure that's not how she normally addresses people or how her conversation flows. By the way she set herself up for bad news from the outset by not having her profile private![]()
I can't believe people on here are defending this woman.
