Fireplace advice

Was finally delivered today - those bags are HUGE and should tide us over quite nicely. the guys stacked the wood as well. Got 2 chords as we go through firewood at a rate - one hard one soft

I have burned our Jetmaster clone to the point where I'll need to replace it in a couple of year. Basically each winter we buy a bakkie load of wood and all the trash in the house than can burn gets "recycled into heat". In summer we put out two bags of recyclable material and one back of trash each week - in winter it is just one recycle bag (glass and tin) every second week.

We stayed at a guest house in Uniondale last year and our room had a Queen Ann stove - marvellous little thing in terms of heat and making coffee in load shedding. So I am thinking of having our fireplace broken out and a little Queen Ann installed.

Possible to post pics? Sounds like its worth it think im gonna go with them too. Please send pics of all the wood :)

Buying 2 cords plus makes sense from a delivery fee perspective

This is what im thinking of getting - any idea what type of wood it is?

Very late, very soory. I got stuck in #Proxmox and whatnot

No idea what the wood is tbh. There are 3-4 rows deep here, this is the hardwood then another of softwood on the other side

Thanks! No worries :)

If possible could you take a Pic of the hard and soft wood logs next to each other?

Assuming you got the deal in the Pic I linked above?

How soft is that soft wood? Burn up instantly or a decent slow burn too?

Do they deliver it with the bag (that you can keep) or do they unpack it ?

I was assuming that they deliver with the bag that you keep to return later or something .. cheers ..

i didnt as if i could keep the bags but it didnt look like that was an option - i stand to be corrected though

Soft > Hard

The hard does have a low slow burn and the soft lights up quick 20230528_113815.jpg

Sweet thanks! I know this might sound off but does it feel like good quality heavy soft wood or light instantly burn up soft wood?
The soft wood definitely feels light - the hard wood is medium - not the hardest/heaviest

Just checking did you get that hard/soft 2 cord plus delivery option?

Im quite torn at the moment, I can locally get a bag 30kg black wattle 60X40X40cm bag for R80 Would need about 9-10 bags to fill a 1m2 cord. The wood is rock solid hardwood will give it a trial run this evening. then I might just buy bulk from them.
