Just wondering which VPN do you use on your FireStick that actually works for Netflix, Prime, Disney etc?
I have a Nord sub, and whilst it works on my PC, it doesnt work on my FireStick. I even tried the same USA server that works on my PC but all i get is a geo error Netflix. Same with Prime, saying that the title(s) are not available to my region.

If some of you have had any luck with Nord, please share. Would be much appreciated.

Note, this isnt strictly for USA, i tried other regions as well but non worked, Singapore and Germany, cant remember the rest.

Def work with UK settings, have not tried usa. But netflix and prime is UK based through firestick using it.

Thanks, ill have a look at those.
Mostly look at other options THAT WORK for Prime and in the future Hulu and Disney

I use a SmartDNS (SmartDNSProxt/Getflix) with everything. It's worked in the past with my fire stick but I haven't used it in a while.

Windscribe. Build a plan per location and unlimited data with ROBERT adblock for just $2 https://www.amazon.com/Windscribe-VPN/dp/B076ZYV6HQ/. You can also try the coupon code COVID420 for AFAIK 27% off a 1 year pro subscription.
I hope for your sake that isn't a referral code.

Netflix blocked getflix and smartdnsproxy (same company) ips last week for US netflix . Did they resolve it ?

So do I understand correctly that you install the nord vpn client directly on the fire stick directly?

The fact that both netflix and prime detect the vpn is suspicious. Perhaps the firestick has some built-in vpn detector that tips off the providers? Or... it could be the DNS that is not being routed via the VPN and tipping them off.
Make sure the vpn is set to tunnel EVERYTHING incl. DNS.

Alternative strategies:
a) Put your whole network through a vpn. Get an OpenWRT / VPN capable router and tunnel everything straight at the source.
b) Cheap and dirty: Run the vpn client on your pc (preferably over wired network). Then shared your PC's internet connection over wifi with the firestick.

Both a and b will reroute all your traffic through the vpn which is not ideal for streaming as it will slow your whole network down. Not advisable.

Sorry to derail but why do I have issues using a DNS server in my Nvidia shield. It doesn’t connect to the internet when I do

I’m using the Getfkix DNS on my Shield but it doesn’t work.
Seems to work on my laptop and iPhone
Have you blocked the Google DNS servers on your router? It still maybe using those, as it's an android TV device

Instructions:
If your router is not listed above, here are some generic instructions. Look for a section on your router to add static routes, there should be room for a network address, subnet mask and gateway. You need to setup the static routes like this:

Network Address: 8.8.8.8
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router - this is the IP that's in the browser URL)

Network Address: 8.8.4.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)

Why not just set it up on your router?

Thanks.

yp, same problem, I recently subbed to SurfShark and while Netflix UK and Amazon Prime UK work on my PC (after a few trial and error attempts) through the Windows or Browser extension apps, I cannot get it to work on my firestick. Prime, Netflix and iPlayer all effectively say I'm using a VPN or playback is not possible at this time.
I've changed my router to the open dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
My router doesnt support native VPN's and I cannot install dd-wrt etc.
I'm going to try the sharing of the wifi connection on my laptop and see what happens.
