Guy Fawkes - 5 November
Anyone know of places where they will be having these firework displays ?

Here is a good link on how to take photos of fireworks.
Linky

Their recommended settings are as follow:
- Aperture: Between f/8 to f/16
- Shutter speed: Slow, best to use remote trigger in bulb mode. (Normally a few seconds)
- ISO: Low, 100

Awesome, apparently there will be a display in the Waterfront on Friday so I will be on the roof of a nearby building to take shots using this advice.

Thanks again

I posted a link in the other fireworks thread for the various public areas demarcated by the City of Cape Town for letting off fireworks...
I went to the one at Camps bay and got a few OK pics... See other thread for link...

I searched for [searchforum]the other fireworks thread[/searchforum] and nothing relevant came up.

You could always provide a link . . . ;)

EDIT - Hold on, I thought there would be a link to some photos there - instead its a link to where they were planning to set off fireworks . . . two days ago. That's handy . . .

If you read my post you'll see I said "I posted a link in the other fireworks thread for the various public areas demarcated by the City of Cape Town for letting off fireworks"

But since you asked... here's some of the pics I took http://www.bit.ly/ctfireworks

Nice photos!!
Our Divali at the usual spot was closed down by the police so that was a tad disappointing

Which spot was that?
Saw one of the newspaper headlines saying something about the cops having to maintain 400 odd people who were trying to set off fireworks in a non-designated area...

It was in Malabar (in Port Elizabeth). I phoned my brother to find out if there was anything going on there and he said the cops were there and stuff so nothing was going on
