I mistakely forgot to take out my 4gig flash drive from my pocket before putting it in the Washing.

It got a nice wash:D

Is it safe to use it? will it damage my PC?

Most flash drives are water resistant, if ur flash is then it is safe to use on ur pc.

wait for it to dry out completely, it should work fine, I droped my sandisk in a puddle of water and tried it after a day and half, nd it worked, nd is still workn no problems caused to my pc

yap, its working. Took out all info as quick as I could.
Seems fine. Not heating up.

Thanks for the reply

Mine takes a bath regularly :D Still going strong! just make sure it is 100% dry before plugging it in.

BBC's TV programme 'Click Online' (now just 'Click') demonstrated a couple of years ago how tough flash drives are. They did 4 tests.

  1. Boil the flash drive in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Drive over the thing with a car.
  3. Hit it with a golfing driver.
  4. I can't remember the fourth one.

Except for the plastice casing that broke, the USB flash drive still worked fine.

Basically the only way of damaging a flash drive (other than to obliterate it) is to pull the drive out of the USB port while some activity is still taking place between the Drive and the PC.
