Flight Simulator 2020

Got the game on game pass a few days ago, Wish there were more games for pc but I really like it. Might force my hand to buy the new Xbox series x.

That's what I do. Have Game Pass Ultimate and play on PC and XBox One X. Will be getting the Series X.

I've finally gotten time to play some Flight Simulator 2020 after that massive download. The game feels very beta after my experience with the polish on Forza Horizon 4. The menus and the controls for controller input needs to be refined and the game itself is calling out for DirectX 12 so low and mid spec PC's get more performance above the lowest settings.

I have the hardware to run the game at max settings, but don't think my 4mb line will be able to handle it (no fibre in my area, plus max speed I can get). :crying:

Likewise... I only have LTE here. My MTN lte is capped at 150gb and Rain is to slow to even consider using it to download.. but looks like our area might be getting fibre in the in the up coming months.

I've got 2.3TB worth of cap left with Vox so I'm covered, the only concern I have is the speed of my line. FS states the min line speed to be 5mb, my line current syncs around 5.5mb, but what does that mean exactly, what type of experience will I have with this always connected game? I don't want to spend R1K on this game just to find out my internet is dog shite. (EDIT: I see the game is on Xbox Game Pass)

But I wish you all the best, It'll be a while before my area is covered :crying:

The power of the cloud has made the game look really good on my Sandy Bridge Core i5 CPU and 1050ti powered PC. I flew over Durban for a few hours today and you can see the graphics improve massively once Bing Maps does it work. The best part so far was stepping outside my home and getting back inside to get the exact same sunset on the horizon.

You don't have to stream the satellite map data, it's an option you get prompted to turn on/off first time the game loads which you can change at any time. It also has a built in data manager you set if you don't have uncapped.

You can test it using the fitgirl repack before buying.

I've downloaded and installed via Game Pass but it's incredibly hard to play with a mouse and keyboard or I just can't get it right. I also do not want to get a joystick or something like that and I'm still struggling. See there are at least nice challenges for when I can take off one day and then I do not even talk about landing again.

Graphics are stunning and I'm running it on High. I've got an i5 8600 and GTX 1060 6GB with a 40mb Fibre line.

I mean, real planes are issued with joysticks or something like that when they are made. Horses for courses, and a first person shooter course this is not.
Just buy one already :)

Even a cheap one will do for now, thrust me (pun intended)

a normal controller works just fine imo, a joystick will be better of course. I use a ps4 controller and the game is still very enjoyable to play

I'm getting it via Game Pass, but it has only downloaded about a gig on the preload. Would have been nice to preload some more of it, seeing it's about 120 gig or so
Do not pause the download lol, i had to do it twice XD

Le it run on one go

Have not tried this yet but putting it here for future reference in case I can't find it again...

Definitely need to try this, just need to get a webcam.

I've built my own IR headset, I've tried FacetrackNOIR, I've even tried one solution where I had my phone strapped to my head...at the end of the day all of these solutions left me frustrated. If I was still into sims I would get the TrackIR but the price..yeah.

Added FS2020 to my wishlist. Not keen on sinking R1000 on the standard edition just yet - especially on the 1060 OC I have.

60fps @ 1080p looks like it at least needs a 1080 or 2060 Super at medium settings.

Try it on game pass? I think its R15 for the first month and R59 pm thereafter with plenty of other decent content.
60FPS is definitely not needed in this game. It feels smooth from 30FPS as it is generally very slow-paced.
