Flight Simulator 2020

Ok maybe 'ran at medium' was optimistic. FS selected medium so I went with it. But yeah, it takes forever to load as I wasn't using my SSD and there were indeed freezes.

Those random freezes are inherit of the game regardless of SSD or not. It's DX 11 holding the game back unfortunately.

I flew out of the Nepal airport near Mount Everest over the weekend. Its such a massive scene taking into the mountains and valleys along the way but my little plane didn't have the power to fly over Mount Everest.

EDIT 2: I see only the 2nd video in this post is filmed in the actual sim and not the preview. Cool so his first FS2020 vid. I will watch them all

Found a way to make things much much better.

First switch off game mode

Then in windows performance settings, optimize for background apps instead of programs.

Load times massively reduced and no more freezing.
It's like the game will grab so much cpu if you prioritize it that everything else grinds to a halt, and then waiting for other stuff the game needs (network, disk etc) slows the game down.

I've installed the game onto drive c which is a 240gb SSD
went into the menu and did some configuration
I set the cache file to 200GB on drive d which is an old spinning 500GB and boy or boy did that take a long time to configure.
Next day I am now ready to start the game again but I have now noticed that my drive D is almost out of disk space
stupid me
what size did you guys set your cache file to?

I have a 5gb cache on ssd. 100mb internet connection so not stressed.

If you using an Nvidia card with all the crapware it comes with, Alt+F1 ,

Capetown is cool to fly over, Last night i went and done The Grand Canyon , wow!

Still want to try find the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio, I took off from the airport, but couldn't find it

Hi All,

Not sure if you will be interested to add it to your game, but I have added a few scenery objects to my game.

I'm a total n00b in creating this so please excuse the roughness at this stage.

I noticed that the FNB PortSide building is missing in Cape Town so I thought I'll try and add it to the game. I also created the "better looking" (I hope) top cable car house for table Mountain and on request I added a better version of The Moses Mabhida Stadium for Durban.

See the download links below. - Download and extract into your community folder and if done correctly you should see these versions appear in your game.
