Okay so I recently opened an fnb gold cheque account
I was given a bank card etc. So today I decided to buy some stuff of takealot using my fnb account, usually i would use my standardbank card. So apon attempting to make payment I'm asked to describe what card I have and the name on the card. I have no name on my card but I assume I should just put the card holders name (My name) However I'm uncertain what type of card I should put under card description, description wise my card only says visa on it. Don't Gold Cheque account cards usually come with your name embossed on them? Mine did.

My brand new Gold Fusion card even has my name on. OP doesn't make sense. My credit and cheque cards before it did as well.

post a pic of the front and back of the card, let us check.

****please dont just kidding

I would think so, but mines doesnt state gold cheque, credit etc, doesn't have my name either. Literally blank where those details would usually be.

Did you open the account at a branch and did they give you a temporary card?

Or does it look like this:

As I said it literally has nothing where those details should off been. I figure I should just add the account username and cheque when placing an order, I never noticed it didnt have them details on the card, I have not really used the actual card till today. I usually use the app.

@SAPS @FNB @FBI Stupid criminal alert.
dude if you got nothing productive to say then dont talk. U making zero sense, the card is blank what's criminal about that.
The question was actually directed towards takealot if u focus just a tad you would have realised that.

Did they gave you this card in the branch where you applied ? Your fancy card should be courier to you

Found this online. I guess these guys didn't end up delivering an embossed card, Oh well. Screenshot_20190815-195649_UC Browser.jpg

May as well put Slartibartfast as the cardholder name, is what I do... Doesn't link to anything.

They gave you the standard blank debit card out the drawer, don't stress it works the same as an embossed cheque or credit card these days.

All jokes aside, worst case scenario you can pay via EFT or payment on delivery...

You have to put the account holder's name in the name block.

The card description is just something for you to know which card you are using if you link multiple cards. Something like "My FNB Cheque card", "Cheque Card" or anything you want should work.

You'll get an OTP when doing the purchase so I don't think they really check the name on card bit for debit/cheque cards.

The R5 easy account FNB card does not come with a name on it, only the Gold for R105+- comes with a name.

I had the easy account and just entered my bank account holder name when making purchases online, Didn't have any problems.
