FNB downtime causes customer backlash

Absa private bank is a joke. I have to threaten my private banker with calls to his boss to get him to answer my emails. And even then he's not helpful. And for this lack of service I pay R400 per month. My fnb platinum banker is several orders of magnitude better.

I thought that might be their only decent service, seems I was wrong. So basically there are NO benefits with going to ABSA besides that they have the most ATMs (how often do you use an ATM?)

FU FNB; seriously this is starting to get ridiculous now; what would I have done without my ABSA creditcard?

You must be joking, I have been with FNB for more then 10 years. I have never had a problem like this, I work in IT so I fully understand that stuff does happen.

Nevermind I will always love FNB for bringing Paypal to South Africa legally!

Oh and what a bunch of whiners, I love ABSA, I love Standard bank? Try banking with the best and then say that again. Easy to say when you have not tried others. I know FNB's faults and I work around them because imho they are still the best.

BTW I have banked with Absa, STD bank and Nedbank in the past. They do not even start to compare...

Oh and thank you to the CEO for updating via twitter including pics, while the techies were working to get the systems up!

FNB app offline too... Here we go again....

Honestly people should put their loyalty somewhere else, this is unacceptable.

I personally don’t believe these outages (Tuesday and today) warrant a move to another bank – I don’t transact every single day on my cards, internet banking or even cellphone banking.

I think if you do use your banks services daily, and zero down time is important, moving should be something you consider. Everybody can switch banks relatively easily these days. Put your money where your mouth is and show FNB that downtime is not acceptable.

Or alternatively - shell out the few bux extra to have a second account with another bank. I'm one of those people who didn't even need to use any services so I didn't feel the downtime, and I still support the FNB brand wholeheartedly.
